If you could speak to the whole world, for 5-7 mins, what would you say and why?

I would explain to people why they really need to dig into their pockets to sponsor my dance habit! Might run longer than 7 minutes, though!

How to be more selfless- to not indulge in yourself when others need a helping hand and to help out no matter what. There is much too much waste and self-pity among people today. Living in a developed nation that is going to pot(Japan) it is obvious on a daily basis.

I would explain why we have to boycott big corporations that support child labour, support HIV positive patients, promote sex ed, force the governments to spend funds on education and healthcare, support women's rights, strongly dissaprove racism of any kind-
Erhm. I think I would need 5-7 days. *shrug* Really now, there are so many things that need fixing that I can't choose one of them. but that's a very nice thread topic, Pacion. Way to go.:D

Well, at lunch today I took a walk down Boylston Street here in Boston and saw a very sad and sobering exhibit. About 700 pair of shoes that belonged to Iraqis who were killed by air attacks were arranged all over Copley Square Park in front of Trinity Church. When available, the names and ages of the former owners were listed. Nothing like seeing a pair of womens shoes you would own yourself lying in a park because the owner is dead to make you re-think what's important.
The combat boots of many (about 500) of the US soldiers also killed in Iraq were displayed as well. A lone voice announced all the names of these soldiers as well as their home state.
I would take my 5-7 minutes to discuss with the world (and President Bush specifically) what is so very wrong with this picture.
Thanks for starting this thread.

Hmm. :( Yes. Very sad. I can't remember where, but I saw something similar on a documentary about the WW-II era years ago. It's very sad when people lose their lives, whatever the reason.
If I could talk to the world for 5 - 7 minutes, I'm not sure what I'd say, to be honest. I'm pretty darn smart and I've seen a lot of things. But I don't know that I have any thought so profound as to command the whole world's attention.
Maybe I'd just have a five-minute moment of silence in which we could all remember the truly courageous women and men who came before us. Why not keep it positive, right? There are some amazing feats of bravery in our past. :)

Perhaps a bit 'trival' in the greater scheme of things but I would tell women to sit with their knees together when in public! :-x
Whilst not 'perfect' not so bad when wearing trousers. But when wearing a short skirt or dress  Been seeing an increase of this.

wake up!
stop believing everything you're told... hold authority figures accountable, and stop mindlessly giving away your power... in every aspect of life.
pretty much sums up every topic i'd wanna hit...

Nice Sam, I agree.
I would tell people to take responsibility for their life and do what they really want instead of what people tell them to do. Also, cut up those credit cards and learn to save money and stop relying on companies to pay for your "things". Also, go hug someone, call a family member, go for a walk and get off the computer, go dance with those you love!

I think I'd end up paraphrasing all the things my mom used to say to my brother and me when we'd get to fighting...
You look out your window, you look out your window, and if you can't think of anything nice to say to each other, then just don't say anything at all.
It's not what you say so much as how you say it.
"Come on, people, now. Smile on your brother, everybody get together, learn to love one another right now."
"We can work it out! Life is very short, and there's no time for fussing and fighting."
I know there are others--most of them song lyrics--but I'm drawing a blank right now.
Edit to add:
Two wrongs don't make a right.
Remember the Golden Rule.
Turn the other cheek.
Hitting is never the answer.
Just because someone else did it doesn't make it right.
I DON'T CARE what he did, you behave!

...splutter! But what if the room only has one window!
I DON'T CARE what he did, you behave!
 Love it!
Taking notes Peaches. I have a couple of young friends who will be of 'fighting age' soon. Some nice things to help shape them into young people.

It's all a matter of perspective. :raisebro:
I'd tell the world to STFU!

 Not every woman is a Sharon Stone... you know!  Even if we all were 'Sharon Stone', some of us would like to be able to look straight ahead of us, without having to look up to the ceiling!
