Just curious since I know some instructors who do and they have converted a section of their home for this purpose.
Does or has anyone taken lessons from such an instructor?
i teach out of my home.
having a full time job i don't depend on my home studio for income so i only teach 6 hrs a week at home.
i love the commute!

Not teaching at DanceWorks and Impulse anymore?
i teach at DanceWorks and Orion now as well as The Majestic in Bellingham. i moved from Impulse to Orion for the 2nd half of 2005. but i also teach my own students in my home.
i pretty much teach where ever i'm needed.

Tell Susan Tom from Tucson says hello; she should know who you're talking about and so should her other staff if they've been around awhile.

I know a place like this and have taken a couple of lessons there and I go to their parties once in a while. Basically those guys have converted their entire first floor into a dance studio. They're about 1h and a half drive from my place, so I don't go there often.
there's at least 3 other places that i know of in the Seattle area that are like mine.
one is similar to what Tanya is talking about. they converted the entire first floor into a really big studio. they teach and also rent out floor space to independants.
