Okay, if you were to teach a wedding dance and music was to be selected based on the dance (rather than the other way round), what information would you want from the couple?

Their individual characters? Ability levels? What they want to portray?

If you were watching a wedding dance what would you like to see?
Proficiency? Character (specifically what)? etc.

Reason is I have 18 months to prepare as I have recently got engaged (again). However, I am interested in this approach to find out how people assess wedding dances from choice of music, choice of choreography etc.

FYI I am a fairly advanced dancer (instructor, one of the better social dancers out there) so basics just ain't going to cut it, but don't let that affect your answers.
Gonna be on D-spot again.

i'm confused. you're going to prepare your own wedding dance and want to know.. .what teachers (of which you are one yourself) would ask a couple who wanted to dance at their wedding....??

No, I'm not going to prepare my own wedding dance, I was wondeing what an instructor would want to know. What approach they would use if they had a completely blank canvas and allowed to use their own artistic creativity.
I have never had the opportunity to prepare one to date. So I was looking to see where people flights of fancy would take them and why (probably being the most important aspect). Often the jhourney can be as important, or more so, than the destination. (Road trip anyone?)
