Okay, if you haven't had a chance to review my other message "Performance and Accountability," I'll quickly bring you up to speed...I participated in an entire day belly dance workshop yesterday. I am incredibly sore...shoulders, back, arms, legs...you name it and it probably aches.
What can I do to help release some of the tension and soreness I'm feeling in my muscles. I'm attempting to stretch throughout the day and am drinking LOTS of water. I'm going to the chiropractor tomorrow to get everything aligned.
What else?
I will gladly accept and try just about anything you suggest! Thanks in advance!!!!

Maybe try taking a warm bath. Sometimes heat can help relax sore muscles. Ibuprofen also helps, I think...no wait maybe that's just when things are swollen. Sounds like you're doing pretty much all you can do.

I had the same problem when I played soccer for 4 hrs straight. I just kind of slept it off. I LOVE TO SLEEP!
dancerdreamland,
I agree that taking a warm bath can do wonders. I like to add some Epsom Salts to my bath after a long day of dancing, it helps the muscles to relax and is good for just general healing. Other than that time and rest is usually the best medicine! Hope your back in action soon!
Cheers!

Another thing you can do, is lie down in a comfortable place, and then relax your body muscle by muscle, starting from your head and eyebrows all the way to your feet. Try to make yoursele consiously aware of each relaxation, going from the head, through the neck and arms and back, to the butt, and down through the legs. It's hard to do at first, at least it is for me 'cause I lose the feeling soemthimes, but it feels really nice once you do it.

Bananas. Eat bananas within a few hours after a good workout. Not a pain killer, but will make your morning more pleasant

I like bananas too...fried banana fritters, cooking bananas in a stew, banana bread, banana ice cream, banana shakes... My sister was saying how much she liked them when we were talking on the phone a couple hours ago:)
Maybe bananas make your morning pleasant as there is something to them...
Bananas are reputed to be good for calcium. Does calcium play a role in muscle movement? Could it play a role as a competing ion? Just a thought popping up from my college days...

Bananas are also good for a hangover...maybe there's some sort of "healing" ingredient in bananas or something...hmmmm
