My brother-in-law is a diehard sports fan who has probably not watched a minute of dancing in his life. He watched DWTS simply to see Kenny and Jerry Rice and we actually talked about the show later. While he's not going to be signing up for dance classes any time soon, he seems to have a new appreciation for dance which I think is great! (Quote: "That **** looks hard!")

We've got to have those kind of fans too...just like the legions of people who will never play football but love to cheer :)

Exactly, Caityrosey! I'm happy that the show allows a mass audience to see what is, for many people, a new dance style. And if the female dancers' costumes bring in some new male fans, that's OK, too! I think it's especially important for kids to be exposed to a form of dance other than what is currently seen on MTV. (I'm not knocking hip hop at all - I just think it's great when other dance styles get some airtime, too).

I love the quote!

My family's similar, RW. Even though we're spread all over creation, everybody's watching, which is a nice change. :)

Well, at least you're missing the show for a good reason. ;) I just set the VCR and then curl up on the couch with popcorn when I have a chance to catch up.

Ahh...gotcha. Well, at least you can check out the videos on Raphael's site, which he's posted links to in a couple of threads now. :)

You need to talk DH into getting you a Tivo. My LW was able to set it up to record every episode of one of her favorite shows without even looking at the instruction manual.
