Some years back when I started out in dancing I heard Cha-Cha being referred to as a latin swing.
While Cha-Cha is certainly not a swing dance perhaps some people might think of it this way since it uses the 1-2, 1-2-3 pattern similar to that of Lindy Hop?
Anyone else ever heard of it being termed a latin swing?

I haven't heard it referred to as such. But I know that when a cha-cha song is played I find it easy to switch between dancing cha-cha, ecs, and lindy. So it would make sense to me that they would refer to it as a "latin swing"

Yeah, I've done this on occasion; find myself switching to swing while doing cha-cha though by mistake. It's easy to do.

Would have to agree; given the energy level Salsa/Mambo "swing" more then does Cha-Cha IMO. :)
