I've been dancing swing for about a year and a half now, and finally tried out one of me da's old pairs of leather-soled shoes, but they're too large, and not dance shoes per se. As such, I decided to set out to find a pair of dance shoes myself.
I dance lindy hop and east coast about four hours a week in lessons, barring local swing events and like happenings. I'd like to find something durable and good for spins/slides.
Let's see. I know what I want (to some extent), but I haven't been able to find a side-by-side comparison of leather (suede, I think) vs. rubber composite soles in dancing. The two main types I'm looking at are Bleyers (swing soles) and Aris Allen. If anyone can throw out another good (better?) brand name or two I'd be grateful.
I'd be thankful as well for any experiences anyone can relate. Any opinions. Facts?
..horror stories?
