View Full Version : Voting Strategy

I don't have one favorite that I'm rooting for at the moment, but I do have a a clear idea of who should go (P of course, and if not P, then George-he's giving it a good try, but his injuries seem to be holding him back far behind the others). So I was wondering which would be the best voting strategy:
Divide my votes among all the dancers I'd be happy to see again
or
Try to guess who will be the least popular in the viewer vote and give all my votes to that person in an effort to counteract the P-factor
Or something else?

The point of this is probably moot, now that Master P is gone, although I saw similar questions/proposals raised elsewhere on the Internet.
I did find it "interesting" though, that the reaction based on the anger/fear of having someone like Master P advance/win for reasons unrelated to dance ability.....is to attempt to devise a voting strategy based on voting for somebody else for a reason unrelated to whether that person was the best dancer of the night. :?
My guess is that Tia was near the bottom this past week partly for that reason. Based on most of the anti-P comments I've seen from various people, Tia is considered one of their favorites (strictly based on dance ability), above George, Jerry, and Lisa. Yet, the strategy almost backfired, and could have completely backfired if Master P had been able to muster just a little more support.

Big10, just out of curiosity--do you post about anything other that P-related issues? My DF lurking has been somewhat limited lately, but all the posts of yours I've seen are all about P.
To answer the original question: I split my votes between all the couples I want to see come back. There was a moment when I wanted to vote for the next weakest dancer to get P off the show so my eyeballs would stop bleeding, but I figured it was unfair to the people I actually liked.

You remember what you choose to remember. As indicated by the post total under my avatar, I have clicked "submit" over 450 times on this website. This website also makes it very easy to do a search of my past posts, which should answer your question.

I use to vote for the top 3 or 4 teams I liked until I saw the fiasco that was going on with P. This last show I voted strictly for the team I liked the most to try to ensure he got to come back. I like Drew and his partner so I put all my votes to his team.
Also had lots of trouble getting through in the allotted 30 minutes because I actually waited till I had seen all the dancers. I wish they would give us at least an hour!

I think Jerry also will stick around longer than he is supposed the be if you judge on dancing abilities.

I vote online, so I only get one chance.
The first week, I voted for the couple I felt danced the best... forgot who that was now.
Since then, I've voted defensively for the 2nd from bottom person.
Now, I'll go back to voting for who I feel danced best.

I suppose you are right, but I am voting entirely for my own pleasure! Which means that I want everyone I enjoy watching to stay on above those I don't enjoy watching.
