I think that was actually in the Carrie Ann thread B10, not this one.
No, it was actually way back in this thread, during the actual "real-time" commentary everybody was giving. I'm too lazy to find the correct page at this point, but you could probably do a thread search for the word "kamikaze" and find it.

So, now it's been overlooked twice. :p ;)

ok that was their comp mambo routine.

 OMG

An actual salsa song (well, instrumental) was used on the show for the Ballroom Mambo couple. I'm shocked to hear (but somewhat pleasantly surprised) that they used a version of Tito Puente's "Ran Kan Kan" for the mambo.

Why couldn't they have done this or something similar for Rodrigo and Yesenia last week instead of that godawful song by Chelo???:headwall:

Yeah, I think George even made a comment on Thursday night about how everybody else is tanning....including Jerry. :)

Yeah, Big10. I've been wondering if the real-time commentary shouldn't be separated from the regular, forum-type, commentary.

The real-time stuff is totally different and kinda IM-like. I, personally, find it irritating, but apparently a lot of folks like chat and IM.

But yeah. I saw your earlier remark. I couldn't remember where it was, but I saw it.

Yeah, the song didn't have quite the "zip" that any other band would have given it, but it's WAY better than that Chelo thing from last week. :?

The couple was indeed "ballroomie" in their movements, but still impressive from this club-dancer's perspective.

??! you're still talking about this? clearly i am not providing enough real-time entertainment. For those who are actually getting to watch right now, I'm sure you are. As for me, I think Carrie Ann should have to publicly apolagize to the pros next week, and admit that, whetn it comes to the ballroom part of their dancing, she has no frickin' clue what she's talking about. I'm also still pissed off that Cheryl's samba dress was such an utterly complete rip off from another designer. That's just not right. (Note: I'm not faulting Cheryl for that, as I have no way of knowing if she knows that it is or not.)

imagine what the aliens are thinking of our native culture as they watch this show. orange white people in flourescent rhinestone dresses and very tight pants, and an orange white washed up pop star "singing" nearly consistently offkey - for applause.

So what did they announce as the dances for next week (A west coaster just has to know)

p.s. it is MOST aggravating that the judges served Tia up to be kicked out with their last place score. Hmph. Oh well.

He was also saved by those three 8's he got. :? That put George far enough ahead of Tia that she had to get a ton of votes to overcome him.

I really enjoyed Cherryl's and Louis' samba tonight!!! For a ballroom dancer, she was so natural and she really had genuine fun doing it, that makes all the difference in my opinion.

But I am so sa-had  that Tia and Max are out! I love George but it really was time for HIM to go this time. I had the impression, though, Tia was expecting it and in a way was relieved, too. She had accomplished more for herself than she had ever expected and she was very happy about that. I will miss seeing them perform, though! I downloaded their tango and I can always watch it whenever I feel like it! Nobody can take that away from us! For a moment I was hoping they would let them dance their tango again tonight, Max started dancing the routine but it was kind of impossible to that BM song.

I like Jerry very much and would be sad for him to be out, however, I thought Tia danced better than him when I saw his samba again tonight. He certainly improved a lot and he practiced a lot, did his steps well, but his moves were far from being Latin or samba-like.

OK, West Coast finally finished the program :)

That samba by Louis & Cheryl just rocked!!!! Totally entertaining, full of power & speed! Even Barry Manilow couldn't help but keep looking at them & kinda forgot to carry on his singing!

Now, 2 weeks ago, we had the very gracious departure of Giselle. This week, we had a more cheerful but also very sentimental departure of Tia. She made it so lighthearted which was great. She complimented all her competitors so well - even said they're better dancers. Max was cute, just way too cute with his comments, not only the last comment but the one w/ he couldn't care less and Len could go back to London!

I hope w/ this show, Tia can make her way back to spotlight. She's very beautiful & talented.

I was thinking...
"I should post something in the DWTS week 5"
I see we on page 55 already!

I'll add one or two things.
- I do like George Hamilton, but I think he is gone next.
- Jerry Rice and Lisa Rina were much improved
- Jerry Rice appears to be especially popular with the fans, so don't count him out too easily
- I still think the final two will be Stacy and Drew

Yes, the problem with only two (as in season 1) is that if the audience vote always trumps the judges vote, then the judges vote doesn't matter between two contestants. The idea is with three contestants in the final, both judges and audience will matter in selecting the winner.

Another good improvement in the rules! I wonder who will be the third. :) Jerry might get there by fans votes, but he might be a little embarrassed to be dancing in the finals with those two.

Because the word "superbowl" is now trademarked. You have to pay to use it, if the NFL would even let you use it at all.
