The Swedes have seen a side of SCD that we Anglo-Saxons have not. Celebrity competitor Arja Saijonmaa, age 61, and her professional partner Tobias Karlsson, age 28, posed nude in the Swedish papers. You can see the picture on www.arjatobias.se.

Arja Saijonmaa is best known as a singer, particularly of tangos. She sang at the funeral of murdered Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme (presumably fully clothed). She is also a politician, representing the Swedish Minority Party in Finland.

Really? I know she had some UN job some time ago (biography on the UN website (http://www.un.org/advocates/bios3.htm)) but I always thought she was a native Finnish speaker (although talking excellent Swedish, as well as several other languages). Well, stranger things have happened.
