Here's one for the C&W dancers out there. What are your favorite line dances, and how are they done? Please include a general description, choreogrpahy and/or typical music, if you can. Just curious. I have a few favorites, such as the swamp thing, which is described at this link.

Wow!! Now I'm getting interest in C&W and line dancing!!! And I thought I would never see the day where that woudl happen....perhaps late 2004 or 2005, depening on how much progress I amke in the dances that I am focusing on now. :)

Once you start and git bit by the C&W bug, you just can't stop!

Theres one that I learned at a square dance dance (a dance for squares, as I call it, even if it isn't accurate at all!) and I think it's called Girl of Paradise or something. I can't explain the steps in the least though. It's fast like a cheetah, and by the end of it, me and my boyfriend were the only ones dancing out of what began as about 30 kids!

I thought that for swing, and now am reducing my swinging dancing time.

Way to go!!! :)

Another high intensity aerobic one is the cotton eye Joe. Starts out mild, but by the time you're done, everybody's sweating, huffing and puffing. I like that one too. I'll have to look up the steps and post. :D

Follow the following link for the most common Cotton Eye Joe: http://kickit.to/ld/Report.php3?PHPSESSID=712f731f41172947b3e0448af529 23ea&xt=581&n=3836

I've always seen this done in a large circle and I LOVE doing spins during the 17-32 counts. Where it says left-right-left, you're supposed to continually progress forward. I, change the left-right-left to travel spins moving forward. Way fun...way dizzy! :D :bouncy:

Cool. Thanks for the Cotton Eye Joe stuff, DD. Does anybody have stuff on the Wild, Wild West? Easily the toughest line dance I've ever learned. :x  :D Fun, too. :D

I did a search on the Kick It website for Wild Wild West. They came up with a whole page of dances. I wasn't sure which one you were looking for, so here's a link to the search:

Hope this helps.

Here's the longest list of C&W dances I've seen, complete with choreography. There are mostly lines dances, but a few partner dances and circle dances as well. Enjoy!

My favorite is which ever dance has the women in wranglers facing away from me and shaking it like a polariod picture.

Outkast is cool! 8) I love their new song, too. :D

As for C&W dances try the stroke it! Lots of hip action in that one!

Ditto that! You said it SO well . . . that's the only reason I go C&W dancing.

Unfortunately, Carolyn knows this, and she keeps me constantly dancing
