Dear all,

as a small spinoff from my travel reports from cuba (see the separate thread about it), let me just enter this small post.

Ive read a couple of times on this board the opinion of people that english salsa remixes are a blasphemy and are not 'real salsa' and so on...

Ive never cared so much, as long as the resulting song was good, but let me just add to this ongoing debate by letting you all know that the cubans certainly dont agree. Several remixes, such as yesterday, the fool on the hill, and several others, are very popular here and even being performed by well-known salsa (or, casino) players.

The opinion here seems to be that as long as the music is played well, it doesnt matter whether you sing in spanish or english. Its the feeling that matters and boy, these musicians certainly have feeling!
