You'll have to consult Jon about that one...and more than likely as you seem to enjoy coffee, you too will be swept away by his charms. Hmm...he seems to have the best luck with women from your area of the world.

I'm a Scorpio, but I'd rather not give out my exact birthday.

(Pygmalion, I am completely unsurprised that you are a Pisces. Very odd.)

HothouseSalsero

You seem like a Pisces to me, although I usually don't like to guess unless I've met somone in person (and even then sometimes I don't have a strong feeling). Not that you didn't already say. Actually, one of my favorite dance partners is kind of in your position, staddling Pisces and Aries. To me she seems like an Aries with lots of Pisces qualities, but the Aries is dominant most of the time.

(I am always amazed I am into this stuff. I'm basically very skeptical and agnostic about most things, but there seems to be something to astrology. Why, I don't know.)

pygmalion
03-05-2004, 04:16 PM
Yes. I believe there's something to it, too. I've spent the last few minutes googling (surprise, surprise), and to be honest, I can relate to both good and bad qualities of both signs.

My friend at lunch recommended something called "The birthday book" which breaks these things down, day by day, not just month by month, and takes into account both sun signs and Chinese signs. I think I'll take a look. I'm curious now.

HothouseSalsero
03-05-2004, 04:29 PM
Pygmalion, the only problem with that approach--and I think I know that particular book--is that the significance of what exact day you're born on changes from year to year. You really need to know what planets are where (where your moon is, venus, etc.). Of course, I'm lazy about math, so I myself don't pay much attention to all the angles and so forth. But the signs in the planets, in my chart, are weirdly accurate, for the most part.

pygmalion
03-05-2004, 04:35 PM
Yes, I suspect that the most accurate approach is to have my chart done. But I'm afraid to do that - I have a feeling it will be accurate. Very eerie.

(and it's Jenn, to my friends :D )

Happy Birthday, Peach Exploration! :bouncy: :bouncy:

My birthday--June 16th. Classic Gemini!

But....

Aquarius Rising
Moon in Saggitarius

Between Gemini and Aquarius, I need to be around lots of people *and* be the center of attention!

Oh, yes, and add to that...Italian too!

There's a cool astro site where you can find out the placement of all your planets--if you have city, time, and year. They also have a section to find out some compatibility astro stuff. But I have to get into work, where it's all bookmarked on my computer!

Nice link, Genesius. Much more detailed than the one I've been using. Nicer, too, because I'm on the cusp -- between Pisces and Aries, and every other place gives you a reading for one or the other, so you have to figure it out for yourself. Pretty cool. 8) :D

Holy cow!

My interp--you're probably one of the most fun, outgoing, gregarious, and vivacious people to be around. Gemini contributes to your wit, grace, and intelligence. It also makes you a little flighty, difficult to pin down.

Leo Ascendent means to me that you make very clear who you are and that who you are is someone you expect everyone else to honor--after all, regal Leo is a ruler.

Leo in the Moon would give a richness and luxuriance to your personality. It balances the tendency of the Gemini personality to be insubstantial with a healthy dose of Leo's forceful sense of self. As a Gemini, you are ever on the lookout for new things and new experiences, but Leo pulls you back into an arena where you are well known and well regarded.

Leo in Venus--in your love life, you tend to be the dominant personality; you like to be treated well and adore someone who can worship you. In your creative life also, your contributions are notable and always with an eye to class and taste. This force of personality in love and creativity comes apparently effortlessly, a natural effusion of your personality, and will brook no denial. It's not that Leo is inflexible--just that you know what you appreciate and what everyone else appreciates as well.

Mars in Aries--this is the natural home of Mars, and it means that I would not want to get on your bad side or be in an argument with you. You are fiercely protective and a great friend, hating injustice with a passion that others don't always understand. You may sometimes come off as a bit aggressive, but that's a natural outgrowth of your fiery personality. With Gemini's creative thinking, the influence of Mars in Aries gives you the power to put your ideas in practice. It may also suggest you're likely to be good at making money--but beware of impulsive schemes!

These signs--Leo, Aries, Gemini--are all very "masculine." They help to define your personality as a woman, however. In a woman, they make a personality that is charming, rich, luxuriant, classy, and above all strong-minded and fearless. You are no wallflower, Christina, and the people you will get along with best are those who appreciate the strength of your personality.

Famous people with Gemini-Sun and Leo-Moon include:

Walt Whitman
Paul McCartney
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Helena Bonham Carter
Ian McKellan
Anne Frank (born just one day before you)
Fats Waller

Best I can do in between classes, off the top of my head, and with no personal chart for you! Take it all like you take your tequila shots--with a dash of salt!

See ya,

Genesius

Bah humbug! I don't know what time I was born  And I am not sure if my DoB is correct either  When we were born, my Dad created a "little" folder for each of us.  My folder has a piece of paper with the top paper having been ripped off with age  All that remains is a downward slash, the month and the year. My aunt always remembers around the "27" or "29" that it is my birthday  yet my birth was registered as "25".

Yup... and many, many more. Most recent example would be some essay exam questions from last Wednesday's midterm. Some students wrote about the topic or summarized the articles/findings, but failed to ever answer the questions asked about those things, i.e. failed to make a point. Grade? 6 out of 10.

Shame on you!! It is a dancer tradition. The b'day girl dances with several guys during one song. Usually starts and ends with that special someone, with one guy starting, dancing for a little while and then smoothly handing the dancer off to the next guy. Often more than one song is played because it's difficult to get everyone in on one song, when it's a big crowd. Usually done by leaders who at least have a passing acquaintance with the girl.

Oh dear... happy belated, Raluca! Hope you had a good one.
(Sorry I forgot -- I was recovering from my 3-day celebration over the weekend: birthday eve, birthday and after-party )

Tell me about recovering...
On my birthday I drank wine with my family, then I had a short birthday party (4 hrs) with my pals... and started with Ron de Cuba & Coke, followed by beer...

How can we disappoint you? Huh? You said no one would remember your birthday!! Don't you feel great that your prediction came true....No actually, I wouldn't feel too good about that. Scratch that. Belated greeting squirrel and just attribute my odd way of speaking to two hours of sleep, congestion and a head cold.

 Looks to me as if Boriken isn't the only one here with two birthdays   Or were they just being smarty pants and trying to mess with the overall results

Queen Elizabeth II has two birthdays also - her official one and the unofficial one. The official one is during the autumn/winter when it is too cold for all the outdoor events/parades so she has a date in the summer for the events. Looks like she is in good company with Boriken and MapleLeaf

I bet you're a heck of a lot nicer than he was, though. Actually, since I gave up the boyfriend idea, he and I have gotten to be very, very good friends. 8) He's a great friend, but a very boyfriend.

How did I miss this thread before? I'm all for the idea of keeping track of and celebrating everyone's birthday. (Maybe we need to add cake smiley to the emoticon library?! )

As for me, I'm August 27th 1976, so that makes me (another) Virgo, and Fire Dragon (hence the name/avatar).

I'm also very fascinated by the idea of star signs - don't put much stock in the Daily Horoscope business but have met so many people who match the description of their star sign that I have to believe there's something in it. Likewise with Chinese astrology. Mostly my conviction comes from the fact that the personality descriptions match me so closely - I'm the most Virgoey Virgo and the most Dragony Dragon there is!

Just another thought:

Maybe we could have a sticky here of a listing of (active) members' birthdays....? It could be done in a chart form, with mths in different boxes. People can enter new datas freely.

We could also list their Astrology/Chinese Animal signs too........

What does everyone think......?
