I should preface this by saying that I really and truly am not good at Smooth/Standard, thus the reason for asking this question before I even consider the option...
For those that listen to country...
I will more than likely be doing a showcase towards the end of the year, and I'm already starting to get ideas for it LOL...I absolutely LOVE the new-ish song "On Again Tonight" by Trent Willmon. The beat pattern for the song is quite obviously a Viennese Waltz--but the mood and lyrics are decidedly NOT a typical VW. To me, the song lends itself to a very emotive/Latin-y interpretation, and I already have ideas in my head for the costuming and all. I'd do a simple black velvet dress (probably tea length, not full-length) with dramatic-but-understated smoky makeup and leave my hair long and loose.
I guess my main question is, would this actually work--especially for somebody who's not all that great at Smooth/Standard?
Oh, and BTW, if you're interested, you can listen to the song at http://www.myspace.com/trentwillmon.
Thanks!:D
