I thought that I would start a list of how this forum has helped you out either dance wise or for other personal reasons. Because when I thought about it the other night, I wouldn't have known this or that if it hadn't been for this forum. So, I'm going to start with a few things that I know this forum has done for me, and if you all can think of something, then you can put those thoughts down here too. Have fun!
1. I can bring up issues that I am to shy to ask my instructor about like girl things and stuff like that.
2. I know that besides people that I can room with at my studio, I could possibly room with others from this forum if we are going to attend the same competition in the future.
3. You can post personal issues and others will help you out willingly and they won't make you feel embarrassed about asking them.
4. You can gripe about how your lessons are going without anyone judging you for saying this or that. They will also tell you about what they've gone throught, and possible reasons why this or that could be happening.
5. I can get more detailed thoughts about steps and posture etc. from the posters and what they say makes more sense sometimes than what your instructor tells you.
6. I have bought costumes much cheaper here than if I were to order them online elsewhere.
7. Looking at the large selection of Ballroom photos gives me ideas as to what I can do with my long hair etc. when it's time for competition.
8. You can find out about things such as makeup, and tanning, and costumes, and hair here rather than asking your friends that don't dance to know what you are talking about lol.
9. If someone makes an explanation here and it sticks with you, and you use that explanation on someone else that you dance with, and it sticks with them is always a good thing!
10. I like how this forum includes both a mixture of eveyone from the Ballroom world from top pros to students to champions even from what I know so far anyways, and it's nice to know that everyone is willing to help you out and it's not like a competition to where you keep everything a secret.
