okay folks...I am beginning to think I need one of those old folks dispensers for all of my supplements

glucosamine/joint health and repair
B6...skin and mood
a multivitamin
magnesium...metabolism and workout recovery

all under a Drs advice ...how bout you?

multivitamin
multimineral
calcium
some green-ish pill for joints
grape seeds
bilberry (eyes)
vit C
vit E (sometimes)
zinc (if necessary)

Option ones:
garlic oil tablets
flex seed oil
omega 3

that's what i can remember....need to pay a visit to the medicine cabinet to get the complete list....

Vitamin B+ helps relieve stress. Seriously! I take it the night before hand though, because it seems to make me a bit tired, but it works. ;)

I've been taking green tea extract for a while. I find that my overall endurance is better (I'm quite active exercising, dancing, working).
I feel I have better skin from Omega 3.
When I'm really exhausted, I take a course of Tri-B shots. This really helps, don't know why. So I've done it once or twice a year.
In winter, I take Vitamin C.

I don't feel a difference taking a multi-vitamin so I just stopped.

I noticed that when I concentrate to take a daily intake of nuts I feel better.

I'm trying now ta take Beta-caroten since I've been getting sun eczema. Heard that it should help the skin?

hey Lynn...I wonder if that green stuff is alfalfa...my mom used to take that...or maybe something with kelp...anyhow, I don't feel so bad now...

Oh LOL. I was feeling very weak for many months and a friend of mine who is a doctor suggested a multivitamin supplement called Geriatrin something or other. I was like, I'm OLD. I'm geriatric. :shock: Bring on the diapers and bed pans...

Under my doctor's advice? Red wine. And fish oil. My cholesterol's real low, but that's both the bad and the good cholesterol, so he's trying to get the good up and, failing that, drive the bad even lower.

On my own, vitamin C and zinc, to avoid colds from my dance partners.

Actually, the greenish pill is glucosamine plus some other stuff, not sure why it's green though..... I don't think there's anything wrong with taking supplmenets - of course, it's ideal if we can get all of our nutrients from food but sometimes it's just not possible.

I'm not eating red meat as supplments....*sighs*.....

I'm not eating red meat as supplments....*sighs*.....man glucosamine, at least with chondrotin...tears my stomach up...I have to have a very full stomach not to get tremendous stomach craps w/ the stuff...and well sometimes it also leaves my system in a rather unfriendly way as well:rolleyes: ...blck...if it wasn't so good for my bad knee, I'd do without it altogether

I heard glucosamine + chondrotin + something else (MSM or something close??) is the most effective combination, not sure if it's true though.

Fascination, if you're having problem digesting glucosamine, isn't there something else you can try? Perhaps a different brand/formulation?

P.S. The first time I heard of glucosamine is actually in a skin care line - weird, huh?!

I think its the chondroitin(sp?) b/c there was one brand that didn't but me...but no, not as far as I know lynn...both my dr and my dog's vet both swear by glucosamine and it has helped both me and my dog...lol...so I just take it once a week after the heaviest meal I eat

What about put those knee support/wraps? Would it help?? My mom & her group of super active seniors have all sorts of protective armors on them - need to keep those joints in tact if you're exercising 5 hrs/day, 7x/week!

it dosn't yet rise to that level of injury and it gets in my way Lynn b/c I am too active...now if I really really hurt it and I still am stupid enough to workout or compete (which is always, btw) then I will tape it....but I find the pre-made things very constricting

Sounds like you ladies are taking good care of the inside but what about the outside? How many of you use professional skin care products such as those you would get from a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon? We're talking about the ones that help diminish fine wrinkles, even skin tone, tighten the skin, and induce collagen regeneration like Retin-A, glycolic acid, Cellex-C, PrevageMD? Do many of you get acid peels or professional facials? I do alot of the above and have some good resources for these products.

Be careful with that zinc. The recommended daily dose is only a few mg per day. A lot of those zinc supplements come in doses that are way too large. The stuff accumulates in your system and becomes toxic over time if you take too much.
