Hi everyone! Has anyone ever not be able to dance for a while because of muscle spasms? I actually have been out since last Friday. I had to wait to this week to see my doctor as to which I'm actually going to another doctor that specializes in this type of thing. It's very frustrating though, because I've had to cancel all of my privates, and take some days off of work, but tomorrow I'm going to the doctors to get some medicine for it. So, all of this should go away soon. But my goodness. It's so frustrating not being able to sleep well at night, much less being able to stay up long enough to write this short message lol. You don't even feel like eating, because you can barely keep your head up to do so as it is. Alright, I can't type any more. I've got to get off this thing. I feel like I've missed out on a lot because I haven't been here to read the messages. Grrr... lol. :(

Nope, never had "muscle spasms".
And there are worse things then a few days off from dancing. ;)

Have only had them once, in the back, for using weights in a rather stupid manner at a gym. It took a few days, and Advil did help...although if it's continuing on, I'd think something a little stronger (muscle relaxer) would be in order.
I was at pt last night (it was so rewarding after getting stuck on a train in between stops, having to disembark, climb through muck, over a couple of jersey barriers and through a small hole in a fence...then 1/2 mile walk....) and they did electro-stimulation on my neck and lower back muscles. I think it was set a little too high because I think my trapezius muscles were actually spasming a bit from it.
Really hoping I get pt treatment through October so I can get a nice massage before I go to Atlanta ;)

Suzie, I'm sorry to hear about your muscle spasms, also. And I agree that anything that keeps us away from dancing is a bad, bad thing!
If this is something you have experienced before, does it have anything to do with your diet? Or just because you've been exercising/dancing? And I kind of got a mental picture of this being a full-body type thing, but I guess maybe you are referring only to your back or other area?
Hope to see you back on the dance floor soon!

Hi SuzieQ! Actually no it was my own fault as to why my muscle spasms happened. I get migraines from hearing high pitched sounds like electric saws etc. Well, we had construction going on until about 1:30 in the morning every night last week. So, you could about imagine how much medicine I took last week. The medicine that I took however makes you rather sleepy while it relaxes you.
Well, I'm thinking that what happened is that I took to much of this medicine to the point that I couldn't feel any pain last week. Therefore, making whatever pain I had more than what it was supposed to be. Usually you know when you have pain, you stop what you are doing, and that's it. Well, I was overdoing it you could say with work and everything, which eventually led to my muscle spasms. If I had not taken that much medicine, then I would have felt my pain in other words, and stopped what I needed to stop.
But I am going to the doctor's tomorrow. You have to in order to get this kind of medicine. But I have to go in anyways to get a work notice etc., so I can only benefit from it even though I really can't drive there. But it's only five minutes away, so I should be fine. I can sit up more than I can lying down anyways. Plus... I really need to get out of my house lol!
Oh, and I had experienced this once last summer, but it was only my right shoulder at that time. This time however, it happened to be my back, shoulders, and neck. It's not a lot of fun to go through. ;(
