Tango music for beginners?

In ballroom, swing, salsa...many dances there are songs that make it easier for beginners to start learning the dance. From these tecahing songs beginners transition into the club/dance songs.

What are good Argentine tango teaching songs, or what songs have you found useful to learning tango, or if you are an experienced tango dancer what songs do you think will work well?

What works for teaching is what works for dancing; Di Sarli, Fresedo, Demare, D'Agostino, Miguel Calo, D'Arienzo, Laurenz, Troilo.
What does not work is concert tango; Piazzolla, late Laurenz with the quintet, in general, things after the early fifties or so.
