Ok here goes..... I've been dancing ON1 for a little less than a year and I picked it up very fast. I danced with some pretty good ON2 dancers and was able to follow them but I wanted to actually understand what I was doing. So for the last month I have been learning to dance ON2. All in all its going pretty well, although sometimes I revert back to ON1 after multiple spins. Anyway over the last week I noticed that I'm having timing issues. When I danced ON1 or ON2 I felt off even though I wasn't. I have a pretty good sense of timing and rhythm but I'm just not feeling the music the same way right now. I'm not actually off beat but it doesn't feel right. Maybe because when I'm ON1 I feel like I should be ON2 and vice versa. Any tips or suggestions?

Could it be the particular song that is playing? I know that there are certain songs which you just *feel* should be On2 and others where you just *feel* you should be On1 because that is how you are hearing it. Can't give you examples, perhaps others can? A suggestion would be to switch to the other style and see if that one feels any better with that particular song.

I wouldn't worry about switching between the two just now - it is like learning a new language, you will revert to your *mother tongue* until such time the other one goes into your subconcious. The fun then starts when you learn a third language/dance and the 2nd language (which you were struggling with not so long ago!) jumps in ahead of the *mother tongue*!!!

When I learnt On2 after having been On1 for one year, I also felt off like you did. After 3 months, I could dance either fluently without feeling off. The last year or so I haven't danced On1. Now when I dance On1 I feel off and it doesn't feel right. In fact I revert back to On2. I've basically given up On1.
