My contribution to the random thought with a twist thread reminded me of a parody I wrote years ago. The tradition was that the team's weekly practice was always announced by some repurposing of arts/movies/tv shows/etc into a dance related form, my contribution:
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did waltz and tango in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths paso doblaid.
`Beware the Samba, my son!
The turns that spin, the rolls that burn!
Beware the ChaCha bird, and shun
The frumious Lindy Hop!'
He took his formal wear in hand:
Long time the latin foe he sought --
So rested he by the Foxtrot gree,
And feather step'd in thought.
And as in hover'd thought he stood,
The Samba, with eyes of flame,
Came whisking through the tulgey wook,
And volta'd as it came!
Slow, slow! Quick, quick! And through and through
The natural turn then spinning back!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went quickstepping back.
`And has thou slain the Samba?
Come to my arms, my rookie boy!
O frabjous day! Back Corte!
He chortled in his joy.
