Ahhh....we have competing Thanksgiving threads. That's okay, I'm happy to say:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING ALL!

twice. As long as I get two pieces of pumpkin pie. *grin*

p.s. the other thread is in Dancer's Anonymous...

Sorry about that . . . this is probably a more-than-one-time occurence. With a topic like this - I can only be . . . Happy there's two!

We'll be among those dancing off the stuffing!!

Will you and Laetitia be there??

As Porfirio reminded me - there's another comp this weekend (yet another thing to be thankful for - had to tie it into the thread) . . . with a couple interesting features:
1) Ballroom show is by Christopher and Justyna Hawkins (World and British Standard Finalists)
2) Latin sho by Michael Malitowski & Joanna Leunis (World and British Latin Finalists)

also on the website, underneath the judges they also name two 'judges stewards' and 3 'security'

Yeah, but Thanksgiving isn't a ballroom holiday, it's a street holiday... ;)

yeah , but I don't wanna deal with moving it and then having two elsewhere then having to deal with figuring out how to merge it...I'll just lock it tomorrow

Turkey. Smoked Salmon dip. Scalloped potatoes. Cranberry sauce. Glazed ham. Shrimp cocktail. Peach pie. Apple pie. Cheesecake tarts. Pound cake. And a bunch more stuff.

It's a miracle I can walk.

Ah... the benefits of keeping it simple on T-Day... let me gloat! LOL

Woke up a few pounds lighter this morning after having several spinach/banana/vanilla smoothies yesterday... plus a few helpings of fabulous homemade rice pudding in the p.m.
:)

<gloat, gloat>
LOL

Yeah, call me a mascochist....the first thing I did in the a.m. the morning after Thanksgiving - put on the latin "dress" for comp in two weeks. Whew...still fits and the rolls of fat aren't hugely prevelant...

I ate sooo much- but right after eating we went for a walk and then I did pilates when I came home at 9:30pm- so I guess the eating and exercise cancelled themselves out :D

Not if you eat as much as I did. No exercise is possible when all your blood is in your stomach and there's nothing let over for your muscles.

I'm better now though... now I want to go dancing.

Yes, but you should see the pile of leftovers in my 'frig. It will be damage control for at least another week.

Oh yeah, there's a comp in two weeks. Well, my damage control was that I left all the leftovers at the place where I ate dinner. I didn't even bring home a piece of pie. Nothing. Not sure I want to get on the scale though....

One local studio had a social Friday after Thanksgiving to which they encouraged people to bring their leftovers.

Unintentionally hit on a Thanksgiving Day feast cure - on Friday, the day after, we had a several hour session with Toni on Smooth and then competed in the evening - made for a long day, and burned into my calorie store!!

Eeek! Scary thought. I don't even want MY leftovers. Why the heck would I want somebody else's? lol!

It can be cool. Or it can be a colossal, fattening, overly-emotional, pain-in-the-butt. Kinda like Christmas. lol.

It's a nice, easy start to the holiday season, though, either way. :)

I think the only reason thanksgiving exists is just to make sure our stomachs get stretched out enough to hold all the food we eat in december for christmas and new years eve... :p

I hate it... I won't even LOOK at any of my comp dresses until after I get through my "first-of-the-year-guilt-diet" and hopefully not have to have anything altered for next year... ;)
