Donating some DV syllabus tapes...

I recently got several of DanceVision's new edition of their Smooth Syllabus DVDs. I have the entire series on VHS as well (from the previous edition, same instructors, slightly different presentation of the steps).

Now I'd like to donate/gift the older set, but I'm not really sure how best to handle it. The two options I've considered:

a) try to find one of the less established local regional teams and donate to them. If I take this approach, I'ld like to find a team that's likely to benefit from them and not just have them sit on a shelf. I don't want to make this into a big "production" with team's writing little notes over "why they deserve them most", just want to make sure I'm not contributing to useless clutter that I know college groups tend to suffer from...

b) Give them to one of the upcoming competitions with the silver set for the winners of bronze and the gold set for the winners of silver.

Other ideas or things I should consider?

[If I had known I was getting the updated set earlier I would have offered the VHS set to the silent auction...]

You know, I'd definitely consider the latter option there because many people bid at the very last minute...and I believe the auction was even extended a few days last year (although I can't recall why). Why don't you give it a shot, and if no one bids, then consider (a) or (b)?

Yep, they are still accepting things to go up for bids.

Can I borrow them to watch before you end up giving them away?

Also, if they don't get bid on, (not to make a pleading pitch), but I know the Hartwick team could really use them. We had put buying a set into our budget proposal last year, and the senate has lost all the club activities money this year due to an accounting error... so the team is SOL with no budget, no coach, and no way to learn.

But anyway, can I borrow them for like a couple days before you give them away? I'll drive over to where you are to pick them up and drop them off, so you don't even have to go out of your way... please?

That great that your doing something with the videos to help other. Most people just let them sit on the shelf and collect dust. Let us know what you end up doing.
