I've been trying to track down the dates of the upcoming semester's competitions in the Northeast; I tend to have an inside leg as most ask me to scrutineer several months in advance, but I'm noticing several prominent absences whose websites seem to not have been updated yet. So if anyone else can help add to this list, I'd appreciate it. Also if your school is looking to plan a competition for this spring, you might find this list useful... (Bracketed events are not collegiate events, but run by USA Dance)
East Coast Midwest West Coast
January 2007
6-7:
13-14: [MAC]
20-21: Caltech
27:28:
February 2007
3-4: Triangle Open, NC
10-11: U. Michigan
17-18: Boston University Star of the North
24-25:
March 2007:
3-4: Binghamton Iowa State
10-11: Harvard & Stony Brook
17-18: RPI/Hartwick (joint)
24-25: Holy Cross
April
31-1: MIT
7-8:
14-15: UC Riverside
21-22: [Northeast Regional]
28-29: UC Berkeley
I know Rutgers and Princeton are missing from the list, last year they held a joint event the last week in April. I know Brandeis University and Simsbury High School both explored the option of organizing a competition last year and both were targeting April dates, not sure if they're going to try again this year.
Princeton and UPenn are planning to co-host a competition again, but the date is a bit up in the air since when Northeast Regionals moved, MIT moved to the date we were about to announce. (We're most likely not doing the last weekend in April since that is during UPenn finals.) This is really helpful for finding an alternative date, thanks!
Rutgers is late April. They usually don't announce their date until the spring, though.

Oops thanks for the corrections on the co-hosts of the Clover Star Classic.
Looking at this year's schedule... I think some schools should consider looking at moving back in February for 2008. (While I've known schools to throw a competition together in two months, I don't advice it so another Feb 2007 event seems unlikely)
I think BU used to be the first week of Feb while Harvard was one of the latter weeks in Feb, which helped to space out the season. Northeast Regionals move definitely through kink into the April schedule and "compressed" the teams into March.

Ballroom At Maryland will have Baby BAM Jam (beginner comp for those who started dancing less than 2 years ago) in April / May (I'll find out when)
Yeah, we're probably doing ours in February, hopefully 24-25 to have more time (there's some delay with setting a date since UPenn usually has a show in February and they're trying to move it to March). Northeast Regionals did affect the schedule quite a bit...ah well, hopefully it will work out!

Normally by this point I'd also have 3-4 midwest colleges talking to me, but I haven't heard from them yet. I guess I'll change the title to 2007 Spring Collegiate comps, when I start getting those (and the date for Baby BAM Jam)... I already have two California ones to add....

Arnold Classic is March 3 and 4 in Columbus, OH

Arnold isn't a collegiate nor a USA Dance event that draws a large collegiate crowd, right? I don't think I want to start including all competitions...

It has a pretty good attendance from the collegiate teams (i ran registration for them last year, and can probably give you the stats, if you want).

YAY! Stony Brook competition!
Hope New York schools will support it over Harvard...
I mean Harvard was great last year, but Stony Brook is doing this for the first time ever!
EDIT: It looks like UPenn/Princeton might not be Feb. 10-11...should have a date for sure by the end of the week though.

The copy of American Dancer I got today claims the NE Regionals are on 3/23-25/2007. Is that an unfortunate print deadline or did they really change their date again?

Unfortunately the timespan for editing the OP has past so I can't edit it any more.... However all is not lost, I know another poster is thinking about harvesting it for a collegiate website that would display competitions by zip code (sort by proximity to an entered zip and date, I assume??) I don't want to out the poster in as I know how busy we both are.....
We actually both have domain names suitable sitting unused... if anyone else wants to step up and maintain some static pages for us in the interim, that would be great.... please PM me...

Have a mini proto-type on my laptop. Hopefully will have something this or next weekend.
As Eric noted, if anyone is interested in maintaining the list, that would be fantastic!

I hope it doesn't conflict with MIT again this year. Last year we skipped the show to hurry home so we could judge the next morning. But this year I really want to stay to watch Mirko and Alessia!

Sounds like it won't conflict given the tentative dates and given that MIT is a few weeks earlier this year. I hope it doesn't conflict with Regionals...
If there's a conflict, BAM is just SOL. ;)

2007 UPenn/Princeton Clover Star Classic is on February 24-25. I think these dates won't change anymore...
Yep, it's completely set now. (We just had to change before because of conflicting with MIT.)

So are any NE/NY/NJ teams thinking about an event in mid april? (7-8, 14-15,21-22)? I'm feeling that the season is ending extremely early this year for me... (will be out at UC Berkely on Rutger's traditional end of april weekend)
As far as I know, MIT, USABDA regionals, and Rutgers is everything for April. I'm hoping Rutgers won't conflict with regionals (I don't think they've announced a date yet? but last year they were on the 22nd or so).
