Just curious. What is the difference between dancing with teachers versus dancing with your dance teacher versus partnering with another amateur? Do you have a preference? Why?

Funny you should mention it, Jenn.
Sometimes I have trouble following certain people, who generally learnt from certain schools/teachers. I would then try dancing with THEIR teachers (all of these done socially of cause, as I don't really go to classes/workshops) just to see if it was the particular STYLE, or the LEADS from the individuals.
The results...? I can nearly ALWAYS follow the teachers (the same moves!) and feel comfortable about being lead into all these moves.
So what is it that the students are NOT picking up....? Some of these people have been dancing for years & they are the flashy ones out there on the floor!
(for a long time I've been blaming myself for being a rusty follower  , now I think the leads may have something to do with it :? )
