Where do you go on a Saturday and Sunday night? I'm coming out andwould like to try salsa in your city. Any reccommendations? I've looked on sfcrazy.com and seen a few clubs, but which is a good one?
Well hopefully a local will answer you. If not, there are a few websites listed for the SF Salsa scene here. (http://www.dance-forums.com/showthread.php?t=8559)
Have fun!

I am a local in the Bay Area.
You might try Cafe Cocomo on 650 Indiana Street. You may have to take a cab but it isn't that far from downtown. They have an accurate we site at cafecocomo.com
It is large dance club with high ceilings and live music. Saturday is not the best night for the hardcore salsa crowd. That would be Thursday but if you are only around Sat-Sun then you should give it a try.
Metronome is a dance studio so it isn't live music. It is probably going to be a dance studio crowd.
Roccapulco - I haven't been hearing good things about this club lately though I haven't ever been there.
I have never been to Jelly's on Sunday but I've not heard anything bad about it.
The best I can say for Sunday is the Allegro Ballroom across the Bay Bridge in Emoryville. Also a dance studio but it is very popular on Sunday night. DJ music starts at about 9pm. Dance lessons start pretty early 7-7:30pm.

It all depends on the scene you're looking for. The ballrooms are well, just that. Jelly's is a blast on Sundays, especially if you like Cuban salsa (and according to your name, you must) and if you want to see some good local bands. It's an afternoon salsa thang. (It starts at 4 and ends by 9.)
As for Saturday night, I'm going to stick w/the Cuban theme, because I'm guessing this is more your style, and suggest El Rincon (at 16th & Harrison St.). It's all Cuban.
Both clubs are not big, flashy places, that's one reason I enjoy them. If you want flash, go to Rocappulco. If I misread you and you're not timba crazy (or rather, freaky), let me know and I can suggest other alternatives.
