a seventeen syllable Japanese Poem three lines long with the form of five syllables in the first and third line and seven syllables in the seventh

So whatever you have to say say it poetically

eg

To a leg of a heron
Adding a long shank
Of a pheasant.

Basho

only one idiosyncratic rule: no mention of frogs

hmm I was quoting the master of Haiku, didn't expect him to break the rules:
maybe it gets lost in translation from the Japanese;

On New Year's Day
each thought a loneliness
winter dusk descends

Five in the first line
Seven in the second line
my haiku is done

frogs are done to death in haiku

Adding a long shank
Of a pheasant.

Who translated this?
The form is not hard to use.
Just play with the words.

To leg of heron
Adding a very long shank
From a tall pheasant.

I guess the joke is
the pheasant has a short leg
next to the heron.

But it is still blue sky here.
Not bored in the least.

My teacher is nuts!
Drew lines on my abdomen
With a ball point pen.

Who am I to judge
His scientific methods?
Next: fingerpainting!

Still need to learn west coast swing,
The rest I've learned some.

You can't retire from dancing elena, dear
Your mind must be in the Twilight Zone... or someone's been drinking anti-dance beer :-?
Eat the chocolate, dance along.. multi-task to a favourite song
Now hand over those M&Ms or else I'll erm, fill your dance shoes with them
