Only seen 1 of the five films nominated, "The Departed". Would like to see "Babel", and "Bobby".

Affleck's supporting actor nomination well deserved.

Kind of funny that "Apocalypto" was nominated as a foreign language film.

I'd vote for Johnny Depp for best Actor, for Pirates of the Caribbean, if I could. While I liked the movie, I bought the DVD for no other reason than to look at him. ;)

Triplet!:)

Johnny is divine! If you love his acting as well as his looks, which in my opinion are pretty unparalleled in the whole entire world, see him in The Libertine - I still cannot believe he wasn't nominated for that role... Warning: it's pretty sexually graphic, especailly considering that it's a period piece.

As far as the GG nods: I'd vote for Johnny too for the simple reason that he carried the entire billion-dollar grossing movie on his shoulders, which none of the other nominees did, and he carried it so well. I am also happy to see Will Smith, Leo DiCaprio (who was great in The Departed) and Jennifer Hudson get nominated. Why Beyonce is in the lead actress category is beyond me considering that all the buzz for Dreamgirls is about Jennifer Hudson's performance...

Apocalypto is in that category because there isn't one English word being spoken in the entire movie (not that I've seen it or plan to because I won't see any Gibson movie ever again)...

wow, am so out of this loop -- this last year it seems my discovery of dance completely nullified my interest in movie-going. saw a scant handful of movies all year... tops

Depp is under a different catagory then Smith and DeCaprio.

And I agree with the Beyonce nomination, kind of a surprise. Has anyone seen this film?

The Devil Wears Prada was seriously my life as an Administrative Assistant for four years! Those lines were precious! The boss and the assistant were my life exactly! And you do multi-task like what they did, and you either remembered it or wrote it down like I did. And you had to dress a certain way (not overly fashionable like they were in the movie though lol), but business like and absolutely no jean or jean material was to be used in your clothing. I was never on call though, but that's because I used to work 11 hours a day. What's the point in having a pager or cell phone then if you are at work all day lol? Wow! My sister does that job now for another place, and even she said the same things I have lol! I wonder if anyone else feels the same way lol. Great movie! Two thumbs up. ;)
