Going on a trip to China and was wondering if anyone has ever danced there. I'm going to Beijing, Hangzhou and Shaghai.
Any suggestions?

I heard Shanghai has a good salsa scene.
Try checking them out. Not too sure about Beijing...

From my favorite salsa travel resource, Salsa Power:

I'd suggest emailing the city correspondent. They can often be quite helpful. Have fun!

My SO went to a salsa club in Shanghai at the end of 2005 and thought it was very good. I believe it's still going. I'll ask him the name/address of the club.

OK I checked. He actually went to two clubs -- says both were good, people friendly. They are:
Silver Moon, No.1 Yue Yang Rd near Dong Ping Rd.
Zapata's, No.5 Heng Shan Rd near Dong Ping Rd.
They are fairly close together, about 10 minutes' walk in between.

One of my good friends from here in AZ left and now teaches in China - here is the link to his website

Contact him "mambojack3@gmail.com" - he is a great guy, really helpful. He should hook you up with the best places to go!

Thank you everyone for your reponses. It seems Shaghai is the Salsa capital of China. Cool. If you guys come across any other sources let me know.
Thanks again
