Due to a recent change in our schedules, LW and I are now considering an appearance as spectators. If we make it, perhaps there will be a chance for Fascination to see if Indiana Jay is any better at waltz than he was a year ago!

LW and I discussed further tonight and have decided not to come. More for you F., in a PM. Hamstersphere, good luck with your first comp. Sorry we won't have a chance to meet.

...if there is any social dancing during that time...I will gladly oblige you...and we can see if my waltz has improved any as well
We'll have to dance another time, F. Perhaps we can meet at a S. Bend event sometime. WRT your waltz, your skills last year were so much greater than mine, that any improvement on your part would probably be relatively imperceptable on my part!

The whole dress thing is a bit of fiasco ... sort of from 'a friend of a friend of a friend' ... was supposed to be travelling here from Sweden but I suspect it's trapped in customs somewhere! Ah well. I have the Alternate Ballgown (which sort of stumbled into my hands when I very first started dancing, and I felt a bit silly about keeping it at my level of expertise at the time ... but I've had to wear it a few times since then!)

Anyway ... good to hear you are feeling better, Fascination. When are you competing? I'm lucky - only Friday afternoon/evening - so I get to relax the rest of the weekend :)

Leaving at lunchtime tomorrow ... cue up the waltzes on the iPod ...

going well so far...bronze is fine and am winning enough over good dancers in the maiden voyage of silver rhythm and standard, to be content..mostly...enjoyed meeting hamsptersphere and mr bixx...smooth and latin coming up shortly...also saw cal and chel...and that was really enjoyable too...feel like its been a good prep for heritage though I had to dance way too many uncontested heats...and didn't dance any scholarships in standard b/c the ladies who only dance locally deserved their shot...so...shrug...good practice...will see how it translates in NC...new dress today too..woohoo

Ok ... well first off congrats to Fascination, who was great!

Second, ice storm -> leaving early and missing the pro show :( -> endless drive home through ice -> only now having power back after a day in the dark in a very cold house ... so apologies for not posting sooner :)

Third, back to Fascination, I can vouch for the beautitude and sparkliness of her dresses - though I don't think I saw this famous new one?

Finally, lots of fun. Overall results completely aside (because they were ever so slightly humiliating on the average) I did what I went there to do, which was dance and act like I knew what I was doing and not get nervous, so it was a really brilliant time.

And then there was the bit about leaving for lunch, going to a 'civilian' restaurant in full-on makeup, and freaking out the wait staff. :) ('Um, ma'am, you have a rhinestone on your face.')

It's all good.

Second, ice storm -> leaving early and missing the pro show -> endless drive home through ice -> only now having power back after a day in the dark in a very cold house ... so apologies for not posting sooner :) I am so glad you got home safely...I was ready for a gin and tonic and I only live 17 miles away

Third, back to Fascination, I can vouch for the beautitude and sparkliness of her dresses - though I don't think I saw this famous new one? it can't possibly live up to the hype but it was a good color and lots cooler;)

Finally, lots of fun. Overall results completely aside (because they were ever so slightly humiliating on the average) I did what I went there to do, which was dance and act like I knew what I was doing and not get nervous, so it was a really brilliant time.let me say that your showcase was quite lovely and you should be very proud of it...as for your results...you had very good competition so I wouldn't extrapolate much from that...you did well on the floor even though I was morally obligated to cheer for the home team

And then there was the bit about leaving for lunch, going to a 'civilian' restaurant in full-on makeup, and freaking out the wait staff. :) ('Um, ma'am, you have a rhinestone on your face.')

It's all good.if I knew where to tell you to look I'd remind you of the time I went to fetch pro at his seedy little motel room out by the airport at 7a.m.in my comp make-up, fishnets, and daisy duke shorts and the hotel clerk wouldn't let me go up to get him...

Smiley Central (www.smileycentral.com (http://www.smileycentral.com)) has tons of free emoticons and such. I have their toolbar installed on my browser.
