View Full Version : Hottest Experience on the Dance Floor?

*giggle* I almost titled this thread "Most Erotic Experience on the Dance Floor", but I figured it might scare some people off 8)

Anyway...I know we've all had them, but until now some of us have just been too "proper" to talk about them...you know, that one time that something that happened on the dance floor seemed like a little something more  Or that one night where something between you and the person you were dancing with just "clicked"...its time to come clean about your dance floor sensuality (*cough* Vince *cough*)! For the sake of this being a family place, though, let's try to keep it PG  I'll start...

I have been "secretly" dating another guy on my team for a few weeks now...when I say "secretly" I mean that no one else on the team knows...too much gossip and such  Anyway, he has been helping me out with my rumba since my partner and I are about as sensual as Janet Reno (lol, no offense) and the other night the team had a stress reliever dance (it was finals week). The lights were dimmed, and a REALLY sexy rumba came on...he and I kinda caught each other's eye from across the room and he walked over and motioned for me to join him on the floor. We both knew it was taboo, since everyone on the team would see us, but we didn't care. He and I danced as if we were in competition: we acted as if we were completely in love with one another (it wasn't too much of a stretch, hehe) Anyway, as the song ended, we ended up with our faces thisclose...and he kissed me! I thought for sure other people had seen us and would freak out, but apparently no one saw or are just too stunned to say anything! Anyway, I would definitely say that was one of my more "sexually charged" moments on the dance floor...now let's hear yours!

PG... Hmmm.... PG...

Here is mine.

My Lady Love and I had broken up after a couple of months of being with each other. We were on speaking terms but didn’t think anything would go further than what we’d thus far shared. some how we managed to agreed to be friends, and dance partners. We met at what had been our local hang out on Sunday nights for a few months. We were sitting by the bar laughing and joking then Willie Colon’s Idilio came on. It is a slow paced and sensual salsa. The floor was fairly packed with non-dancers all around.

The trombones had already been playing. Just when we got to the middle of the floor Willie starts singing, “Solo me alienta el deseo divino de acerte mia” (Only this divine feeling of making you mine gives me strength). Something magical happened. I closed my eyes she closed hers. It physically felt like we were lifted off the ground, we went through shines, patterns, grooves of feeling, all while not feeling physically alive. When Cucco Peña screamed “Guapea Willie Colon”, (roughly translated to, Play the trombone willie colon), I, to this date, swear that the lights on the ceiling all spotted on us, of course they didn’t because when the song ended the place was dark.

I felt that for the first time in my salsa dancing I walked through the doors of heaven and was allowed to experience what it was to feel the clouds caress my body. We didn’t feel people around us, we didn’t feel the floor, we didn’t even feel our physical connection. I have for 2 years tried to put into words what it felt like, and each time I miserably fail. A couple of seconds later, the abrupt start of the next song made us feel as if we were literally placed back down on the dancefloor. The floor felt hard again, we felt people around us, we opened our eyes and we sparkled at each other for a couple of more seconds in awe of what had just happened. We looked at each other with thought of kiss in our eyes but we didn’t, what we did do is be inseparable since. When I got to the bar, my bartender friend came up to congratulate us, everyone in the place looked at us with smiley faces. We’ll never forget that day, even as I today write about it, I can feel what happened that night, I just can’t explain it.

After that experience *gasping for breath* Boriken, you must be really missing your ex! Don't think anyone could possibly top your dance floor experience!

I had this one HOT blues dance at a lindy exchange recently - had never danced with this guy before - my legs felt like spaguetti noodles swaying to and fro - oh yes, felt as if I was just swept off my feet - the dance ended in a nice, smooth dip, me=parallel with the floor. Boy, was he SMOOTH. Never to be seen again. Until the Great Southwest Lindyfest in March, I hope!!

Funny, my hottest dance was with a friend I'm not interested in romantically... He's very strong and creative, so you never know what he'll do next, and it's always a great fun dancing with him. They played a really nice slow cha cha, and my friend asked me to pretend that I'm madly in love with him. I thought it's funny, but played along. Well, in about 20 seconds I believed my own play! Those several minutes were like magic. I don't remember what we were doing, but I was in heaven. Somehow with the last note I ended up close to the ceiling, in bird-like pose, but I've never done that before, yet it felt right! We both were so exhausted after that single song, we didn't dance to the rest of the night...

borikensalsero, to you! I understand your predicment trying to convey the emotion of the moment. It is a trip of sheer euphoria to dance heaven.

I don't think my experiences could even live in the shadow of yours but I if I can think of one I will share it. ':?'

Here are one or two tame experiences:

Chemistry: I have a good friend who is a social dancer. Well at our club dance he and I have slow danced and it caused comment among our friends because there was no daylight between us and we both closed our eyes while dancing.

A former instructor/friend and I has tremendous chemistry on the dance floor--my friends commented on it all the time. Our mambo and tango were sizzling. Unfortunately people read too much into our dance chemistry and it eventually ruined our friendship.

Oh, BBG and Boriken, how wonderful. Dammit, mine isn't nearly as interesting. I think I need to make one up. ;)

Seriously, I was overseas and had caught up with a colleague who I knew for years, but only through work. We didn't know one another terribly well, but there'd always been this "spark" between us. Unfortunately our positions didn't allow us to even be friends, let alone anythign more.

Anyway, we're having dinner and I'm trying to get rid of him so I can go salsa dancing and, realising he has no intention of going home, I invited him to join me.

We get to the place and I've gotten my days mixed up. There is no salsa only Argentine Tango, which I didn't know at the time. So rather than sit and watch (I must dance if there is music) I went into an empty room, grabbed the guy and decided to teach him salsa.

He picked it up amazingly well and I started to teach him more complicated moves. By the end of the night, about four hours later, we were doing some rather nice salsa and, once it clicked, he stopped worrying about the moves and looking silly and started to dance to the music.

He was an absolute natural and, aside from doing the moves perfectly, he began to look me straight in the eye for the entirety of each dance. It would have been freaky if not for several years of "spark" between us.

He moved beautifully and the combination of the music, the lighting, the hot Singaporean summer air and him looking sexy as hell, made me a little weak at the knees...I could barely breath, and it had nothing to do with a lack of air conditioning. :)

I had a hot experience on the salsa floor last weekend. It really caught me off guard, because I'm in a somewhat complicated relationship already. But I was dancing with this guy, a total cutie, when suddenly it felt as if there was a spotlight on the two of us, just us, in a room with a hundred people in it. We breathed, danced and touched as if no one was watching ... at least for three minutes. Then my real life came back into focus. This salsa stuff is dangerous!  8)

I love people who revive old threads.......I used to do the same (I am cheerleader to the Better-late-than-never Club, afterall 8) )!

This isn't really a hot one, more like a cool one; but here it goes:

This Sunday just past, I REALLY needed to get my salsa fix (over reasons I won't bore you with) when I hit this favourite club on Sunday night. I grew up with the resident band members there (so it's like home to me ), playing Latin Jazz with a few cool salsa dura numbers. Lots of descarga.

I ran into one of my old social dance partners who hasn't been out for ages :D ! We got into a frenzy, riding on the amazing energy of the band.

Then it happened. All of a sudden I was in mid air  ! I shut my eyes then landed perfectly on beat. For a spilt second (when I was up there) everything was still.........the cheers & clapping brought me back...

Afterwards I spoke to my partner, he didn't know how it happened either. It must have been one of those moments 8) ............

:bouncy: So, I did my first EVER aerial :bouncy: !

The hottest experience on the floor. There's only one that's worth mentioning. Actually, it happened twice, but the girl that did it the second time was apparently much better at it than the girl who did it first.

I was dancing a Rumba with a girl who was taking the college social dancing class (same one I got started in not too long ago), and we were chatting, you know, basic small talk. Well, she ever so gently and smoothly blew a breath of air by my right ear! Woah, whatever I was saying turned immediately to "bwah bwah bwah" and my legs turned into Laffy Taffy! Keep in mind, I don't carry on in a like manner with such experiences as that, but if any of you ladies out there want to give your guy a major rush on a slow dance, the "warm ear breeze" is ideal!

now with DH, when we first started dancing we were practicing our rumba one night and had to stop and "horizonatally express" it...that was very nice

A slightly different kind of experience: There is a young lady at our studio (I think I heard that she's 20) who has been taking lessons for about four months now. She told me that she took a lot of ballet and jazz as a teenager, and she has picked up a lot of things amazingly fast (she can already do a credible beginning silver waltz). She's kind of petite and until recently she's had a tendency to dress "cute" -- hair in braids, lots of teenager/juniors stuff. You ladies know what I mean. And, like most beginners, even though she picks up things fast, she has mostly concentrated on steps rather than style.

Well, we had our local comp a month ago and she dressed for that. To the nines. She had a wonderful smooth gown, but her rhythm outfit was really amazing... a short skirt that managed to cling to her without impeding her movement, and a plunging-neckline top. I did a silver waltz with her, and where our previous waltzes together have felt somewhat rushed, on this one we nailed it. She was very elegant and her movement flowed where previously it had been jerky.

But the really amazing experience was watching her do the full bronze ECS event with one of my friends. He is (I'll admit it) a better swing dancer than I am, and he really had her moving. And she moved... oh boy! It was the first time I'd ever seen her move like that. At one point, they had rotated around to where she was in profile to me, and I remember seeing that and thinking: "Damn, she's actually hot!"

She definitely took a step forward in her dancing that day. She has movement where previously she was just taking steps. And she's dressing better. And I don't think of her as "cute" anymore. ;)

I haven't heard from her for several months. She wasn't going to frequent a dance that I go to anymore because of a milonga opening up the same night. I'm sure she's just doing the tango circuit. But I'm afraid that she has spoiled me for Am. tango (and probably intl tango as well.) Honestly, I just don't find ballroom tango interesting anymore. (But I know very little anyway.)

I agree. Except, of course, if we'll have to start smoking to deal with the repercussions of your hot stories...;)

My most sensual experience on the dance floor happened during a group class ...I was dancing the merengae with another partner and things got really sensual fast! We both had a great time but the other instructors began to notice how "in" to each other both of us were during the dance! It was a memorable experience for me but I'm not sure if my partner saw it that way...Anyway, I hope to have alot more of these kind of experiences on (and off) the dance floor!

Umm, here goes mine:

There was a girl in my class who I had fancy'd for 2.5 years already, unfortunately with no great success. I always dreamed to tell her about my strong feelings against her. As my final examinations were just over and there was a big party closing I knew that I atleast had to dance with her, cause that might just be just the last time I could ever see her.

As I had almost absolutely no previous experience in dancing I didnt feel too great about the upcoming party. Luckily, soon after dancing in front of mirror and finding out that my dance skills were horrible I found this board and as its most helpful members stood behind me, my confidence was coming back. Videos of Michael Jackson were also a great help =)

After many sleepless nights the final day had came. The beginning was kinda icy, few dances with various girls, that was it. The people mainly just sat and chatted with eachother. I, being disappointed, went to first floor of the house to get some drinks before I leave. Suddenly I heard
some loud music coming from the upper floor. As I got nothing to loose I wanted to see her for the last time. For my surprise, the radio was yelling a known pop hit and about 30 people were dancing crazily. Automatically I started searching for her and caught her eye quickly. I stepped closer and started giving my best.

I dont know if it was from the drinks or the moment itself - we looked into eachothers eyes and everything kinda went into slowmotion. Music didnt seem to play so loud anymore, I didnt see no one else except her anymore. Slowly we moved closer, the tension was growing. The rhythm was ideal, our bodies moved in synchron, the way she looked and moved was perfect! I couldn't believe that dancing could be so pleasurable, my body was hot and it was filled with buzzes. I can swear she looked more beautiful to me on that moment than ever. She wasnt just smiling at me, she was shining. It felt like I was floating, my body just moved, I didnt have to think about movements anymore.

Unexpectedly the music stopped, I "dropped" to the the floor , surroundigs became into reality again. For few seconds, we both stood there trying to find out what had just happened. I was really happy when the music started playing again and double-happy when I realized that it was a slow song, something waltz-like. I noticed how she blushed and almost shyly she said that she had no idea how to dance according to than kind of music. Finally those 4-th grade dance lessons were paying off =).

So there we were, holding eachother and whirling in the middle of the room. Fairy tale had become into
true. For that moment I had completely lost my time sense, so I had no idea how long we had danced there. When the song came into end, we were standing so close to eachother, that I could kiss her freely. For ten seconds we just stood in there holding eachothers hands, I knew it was my last chance, but I dropped it. The way she looked at me, those innocent eyes, I couldnt stand them anymore. I know she realized what I wanted to do and say, but I just thanked her and said goodbye.

Although she was only 16, I already knew on that moment that she was the woman, who I wanted to marry, to get kids with, with who to age. Sadly, destiny had different plans for us.

It might not be anything special, but it sure was the most hottest experience for me on the dance floor.

Also sorry for my not so good English, I hope you all understand my text. But even if I could speak it fluently, I think English wouldn't have enough words to describe what I felt on those breath-taking moments.

My hottest moment on the dancefloor happened when I was overseas on business. I was in Milan, Italy, and it was my first free evening, so I decided to check out the local night life. Wanting to dance some Salsa, I asked around, and heard about a club that came highly recommended. So, I gave it a try...

It took me a while to find the place, but eventually I discovered it nestled away off the main drag after enjoying a long walk in the warmth of the summer evening. As I approached, I knew I must be in the right spot. My ears caught the distant but familiar latin beats, issuing out of the busy club. As I approached, the music became louder and somewhat unconsciously my feet started moving in time with the rhythm. There were many people standing at and around the entrance. I looked closer and saw that the club had no front wall, and that you could see directly onto the dancefloor, which explained how I could hear the music from so far away.

Peering around the people milling around the entrance, I caught sight of the dancefloor and was excited to see a thick crowd of dancers, all busy busting their moves. I moved in closer to take a better look, and that's when I spotted her. Our eyes met across the club and locked for what seemed like minutes. She was a tall, slender brunette, dressed for dancing no doubt, and absolutely gorgeous.

Feeling slightly uncomfortable about just standing there, I broke my gaze and moved in decided to play it cool. I walked into the club and thought I'd just check out the dancing for a while. And what great dancing it was! The dancefloor was packed, and at least half of the people out there were quite good. I was enjoying the dancing so much, in fact, that I kind of lost track of time. I must have sat watching at least a couple songs before I knew it.

Then, startling me out of my trance, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned, and to my amazement, the girl was there! The butterflies in my stomach took flight... Closer up, she was even more beautiful, and I just stood there, no doubt looking baffled and silly, just taking in the details of her face and eyes. Then she said something and I watched her lips move as if in slow motion. It was like a dream, the music was blaring, and everything around me seemed to lose focus, except of course for her.

She repeated what she said, and it kind of snapped me back from my dream-like state. It was a question. She was speaking in Italian, and I didn't know a word of it. I asked her if she spoke any English. She must have known enough to understand what I asked, because she frowned slightly and shook her head. I stood there, still looking baffled and silly, and didn't know what to do. Then she smiled and gesturered to the dancefloor by nodding her head slightly towards the dancers. I understood immediately; it was an invitation to go dance!

I led her by the hand out onto the floor, turned and took her into a closed position. The music was already playing, and it took us a second just to get into the groove, before we started. We just stood there for a moment, swaying slightly to the music, looking at each other. My stomach was turning and knotting feverously. We when actually did start, it was like dancing without a dancefloor. Every move was executed smoothly, precisely, effortlessly. I had never danced WITH someone so well, nor since. I was surpized at how well we danced with each other, and I'm sure she was too. It felt so natural that it seemed like we had danced together for ages. We danced our hearts out, and I danced closer with her than I normally would with someone I'd never met before -- something she didn't seem to mind at all. And with the completetion of each turn or pattern, I caught a grin curled on the lips, or a spark of something behind the eyes shared between only the two of us. It was a magical experience. We truly danced as one -- each of our movements in perfect accord, in perfect harmony with the other's. She was was the melody, dancing and frolicking around (but perfectly in accord with) me, the rhythm.

We danced for must have been three or four songs before we stopped to break. We were completely exhausted. The energy and draw between us was so intense that it kept us going beyond our exhaustion. She led me off the dancefloor by the hand over to a slightly quieter spot away from the music. She let go of my hand and went (what appeared to be) to hug a guy standing by the bar. She whispered something in his ear and then he came over to talk to me. Apparently this guy was a friend of hers that spoke English.

"She wants to tell you that you're a great dancer," he said and he shook my hand, as the girl stood beside him, smiling broadly. Although I was grateful to have an interpreter, the introduction of a third person into our own private universe kind of disrupted the magic of the evening.

With the help of the translator we introduced ourselves and made small-talk for a while as we cooled down. The intensity between us had sort of run into a wall with the introduction of her friend, but we still occasionally made eyes at each other during the conversation.

The night continued on, and we danced with each other many times. And although the initial magic we shared with our first dance had already crystalized into a permanent but seemingly distant memory, there was still a serious draw between us.

I left the club very late that night, after having said goodbye to her through her friend. I had an early morning meeting, and I couldn't stay to chat longer. My evening dancefloor romance came to a close, and I walked back to my hotel, my head still swimming with the images of the evening's dances and the intense feelings that still flushed through my system.

I stayed in Milan for about a month and I visited the latin clubs as often as I could. Each time I went, I saw her there, and we continued to share our mutual love affair with dancing. Without so much as a word spoken between us, we would get out on the floor and dance the night away. We had a lot of great dances together, and we continued to silently flirt with each other every time we met.

On my last night in Italy, I decided to go back to the first club I went to, where I met her. My flight left early the following morning, but I decided to go out anyway, hoping that I could just see her one more time. I had been back to that particular club each Friday, and she had been there every time. I thought this Friday would be no different. I arrived at my usual time and danced a few dances, but didn't see her anywhere. The night went on and still she didn't show up. My heart sank deeply with each passing hour. I finally left the club at 2 or 3 in the morning, went back to my hotel room, and got packed and ready to leave on the 5am flight.

The kiss that never happened with her still haunts me to this day. Why I didn't try sooner, I don't know. The language was a barrier, but it's amazing how well we communicated on the dancefloor. I guess it just wasn't meant to be...

A true story, just embellished a bit. :)

Does anyone else have "dance husbands"--you know, kind of like "work husbands" but at social dances or lessons?

Pretty much. Most of the women I work with have "work husbands" meaning someone at the company that they work/interact with routinely and/or may be a bit attracted to--jokingly referred to as "work husbands"--not someone you actually ever make a move on or anything (as most of these women are married or in relationships), but just a special relationship cultivated in the workplace.

Similar idea for dancing.
