I'm going to start this off with what should be a simple question: Where do I get the forms?
The past several years I've used a CPA because of a number of changes and special situations. Now that my life has settle back to a dull roar with nothing different from last year, I should be able to do my own taxes again.
But it used to be that the tax booklets and forms would be at the local post office. But when I went to the old one, it only had a couple forms. When I went to the one near where I live now, there was nothing there.
So where are we supposed to go nowadays to get the booklets and forms?

You can find just about every friggin' form known to mankind, and plenty that aren't known, at irs.gov. Left side of the page.

If you're looking to walk-in somewhere and get a hard-copy form, though, I'm not so sure anymore.
Usually libraries have the most common forms, I think.
Or, if there's a taxpayer assistance center near where you live (probably not, since they're closing a lot of them for budgetary reasons, don't get me started), TAC's usually have a pretty broad range of forms on the shelf. Not all of them, but probably more than a post office or library.
But, seriously, going online and just printing out the forms you need is probably your best/easiest option.

Ya lo traté; no están.
Already tried that, but they're simply not there. Is there somewhere else that I could go to since the post offices don't have it?
I started the thread, because apparently something had changed in the 10 years or so since I had last done my own.
I almost kind of vaguely remember getting them in the mail. But wouldn't that depend on how we had done our taxes the previous year?
PS
OK, I'll check what they have at irs.gov.
(I almost wrote "irs.com", but that's probably a porn site; S&M most likely)

Which did you try, and what wasn't there--library or TAC or online?
We still get the basic F1040 package in the mail. Doesn't do us much good, since it's only 1 of about a dozen forms we need to file.
Seriously, online. You're on D-F, so you obviously have a computer. I know you're computer literate. Alls you need is a decent printer. Et, voila.
Also, through irs.gov there are links to online filing thing. Which I haven't figured out, b/c our taxes are comparatively complicated.

I was responding to fascination's first response of "post office", but then by the time I could hit "Submit Reply" a bunch more replies had been submitted.
I'll give irs.gov a look-see today. Thanks.

Oh, my mistake. (Ah, the problems of 'quick reply' when you don't have quotes.) Sorry 'bout that.

Online via irs.gov. I did my taxes last year and plan to do them this year. Unfortunately I cannot itemize since I only lived in my house for 6 months. But, even next year I won't get that much of a larger deduction by itemizing. Scratch off that advantage of owning a house pour moi.

Actually, I just run a general fund, so I can't really tell where which monies go. Just as likely to go to the mortgage as to dancing.
Today I printed out my tax summary report from Quicken -- we're just starting a cafeteria plan at work so I needed to see what my medical expenses were last year.
I also saw what I had spent on dancing last year -- averages a bit less than $10 a night when you considering I'm at it 5 to 7 nights a week, every week.
Much better than having it go to the tequila fund, which would need to be much larger if not for the dancing.
