I remember the bad experience many people had with the foldable floor at the BU comp last year. Some of the girls from my team got their heels caught in between the gaps and some guys got their suede ripped by the sharp edges. I assume we will still be competing on the same floor but are the gaps in between the different pieces fixed or filled? It's quite dangerous, especially if you are moving backwards...

Sounds like a typical hotel ballroom floor...

FYI - BU noted the issues with the floor last year and is working hard this year to obtain a much better floor.

any word about the size of the floor? For standard folks, our first long wall routines took us down BU's long wall, short wall, and next long wall(3/4 around), and short wall took nearly another short wall and long wall. It's a big problem when you have fast reverse turning figures to overturn them even more to go around the corner(or run off the floor)

32'x68'

I don't have the exact numbers, but I believe it was roughly the size of an official basketball court, 94' long by 50' wide.

Over concrete?!

Done a lot of practicing, classes, and even private lessons on vinyl tile.
Unless it has problematic wax, the surface itself isn't bad.
But the lack of anything but a concrete slab under it can be.

Seems like there will be many more contestants at BU this year... I don't recall seeing any NYU people coming up to BU comp last yr. I wonder how BU is going to be able to fit everyone on that tiny floor and how will people be sitting... It will be overloaded...
