It's been a long time since we had a silly dance thread, so here goes. Does anybody limbo? Before I started dancing, I avoided limbo like the plague. Now, I'm starting to look at every dance, however silly, with new eyes. Do you see any dance-related redeeming features in limbo? Limbo, anyone?

All I can contribute is that Stacey, my old ballroom & smooth partner, was really good at Limbo (http://www.dance-forums.com/album/showphoto.php?photo=178&password=&sort=1&cat=504&page=1)!

Hey. Anybody who has that flexible a mid-section must have some dance advantages. Not?

Flexible midesction? I was thinking just the opposite... strong core! (Which isn't to say it couldn't be flexible to, it's just that center flexibility isn't what I see in the limbo.) Actually, I guess it depends on which style of limboer I see... some seem to rely on a very flexible back, while others seem to hinge much more at the knee (as Stacey does). What it does say to me is core strength, ankle and knee strength, and balance... all excellent and important dancing qualities.

Additionally, limbo requires balance which can relate with grace. Both important qualities to all forms of dance.
I personally stink at limbo...not enough flexibility to backbend low.
