A friend of mine in Oklahoma City is wanting to start ballroom lessons.
Can anybody recommend a studio or teacher?

I would recommend Harpe's Dance:

Thanks for responding SQ!
It looks like that teacher's bio is mostly c/w dancing, and most of the pictures are of performances in cowboy hats - is it primarily a c/w studio? Or do they teach ballroom/latin as well?
Do you know anything about this http://www.dancemakers.net/ studio? It looks like that's where the OU team dances . . . what would make you choose one of these studios over another?

Dance Makers!!! I have coached there before. There is a great young competitive 9 dance couple, Hays and Amanda, that are very sweet. I definitely recommend this studio.

Hi delamusica,
A competing couple from Oklahoma City who has been very nice to us the past several years at comps:
David Hyer (405) 822-4026 and Shelby Rothwell (pm me if you need her number also).

I know them from c&w competitions, but they are ballroom dancers and instructors. I have seen some nice demonstrations by them that were not "country."

You aboslutely must take some lessons from David Hyer and Shelby Rothell! The are absolutely wonderful teachers! I can't rave enough about them. I have had quite a few lessons with them and they are super people. I wish I lived closer to them. Good luck on your search.
