We've seen the oldest manatee yesterday. It is 58 years old, born in 1948. I've also seen a 53 year old chimp(?) in Colo. Springs zoo. Any others?

My brother had a hamster named Hermes that lived for over 5 years. When he died (finally!) he had missing toes from gangrene and was really quite a fat little guy. Unbelievable personality though. We missed the thing. He became a real fixture. and we all thought hamsters were only supposed to live around 2 years!

Wow, that sounds like Harry Potter - 3. "This rat has been in our family for 11 years..."
