Which would you rather see?

You're standing on the outer edge of the dancefloor and two couples catch your eye on the floor. An advanced couple with amazing flow, but a serious demeanor. An intermediate couple with some great moves every now and then, but both are laughing and playful. Which one would you rather watch?

Well, since I perform the Tango, I'll have to say I like the serious demeanor. Don't get me wrong...I like to have fun with it, but my expression is serious.

Totally depends on the setting and what I'm watching/looking for. If I’m just idly observing than, of course, the couple clearly enjoying themselves is by far the greater pleasure to watch. If, however, I am looking to "steal" some choreography or trying to assess quality of action, than the first couple might be of greater interest...surly attitudes and all. Similarly, if it is a competition, the performance factor of couple two might be more enjoyable but, so too, might the quality of action demonstrated by couple one so, again, it depends on setting and what I am trying/hoping to take away from the experience...

I did vote for the intermediate but fun couple though, because more often I think I'd rather watch them...to me they are likely to be more enjoyable to watch simply because of their own greater enjoyment in and of the dancing itself…

In theory, the intermediate couple with great moves and the playful nature, but it depends on the circumstance...tango is probably better danced with less frivolity, whereas quickstep can be sooooooooo cool when the routine is peppered with fun!

So it's official, I'm sitting on the fence with a very definite "it depends". :)

Love all the answers. I'm in the FSC too (Fence Sitting Crew) :lol: If I'm just watching to enjoy the vibe coming from the floor the playful couple will always get my attention first. When I'm looking to see some new/different moves I'd probably concentrate a little more on the advanced dancers. But I could only watch it for so long before I'd wander back to the fun couple! :D
