Does anyone have results from tonight's New York Dance Festival - Professional International Standard competition.

I just got home and filled the food bowl so I can be sure my cats are paying attention to me out of love. I still have to shower, so I'll keep this brief. I'll fill in last names and a missing couple or two later.

Professional Standard:

I really liked Lukas and Paulina, even more in the final than in the semifinal. I was happy seeing Greg and Gaby come out strong in the final. It was great to see Nick, Karolina, and Basil in competition again. (Yes, I know Basil's been back, but it's the first I've seen of him in a long time.)

(At least one more couple whose names I don't know. There might be one more. I'll have to check.)

Professional Rhythm:

There was a short show instead of a competition. I get the feeling that perhaps only Felipe and Carolina Telona registered so they were asked to do a small showcase instead. They did a great job performing a cha-cha followed by a bolero.

Amateur Smooth:

This couple has got to be my favorite. I really feel everything they do on the floor. ;)

Ya, they looked good in the final. If I recall correctly, they had third pretty solidly, at least four of the dances if not all five.

Do I know you? I know I see a Paula when I see Greg and Gaby in NJ.

I was there for a small portion of last night's program.

This was my favorite dress of the evening:

The ballroom is quite dark at this event, and no dress cut through the gloom like this one. It showed up even better than all the white dresses (and there were a lot of them.)

wow -- very bright. love the movement... i like it, but one would need the proper frame to hang it on, no? i think you have the lithe build that could carry it off... any plans for doing something fringey with your next dress? ;)
