Just got wind of a new dance movie to hit the theaters in LA and NY sometime in February...SWING. Checkout this link for more info: http://www.swingthemovie.com/index.html
It appears 2004 will be the year for dance films.
A Time for Dancing - A heart tugging film about two girls with a dream to dance and a terminal illness which steps in the way. Currently showing on Showtime and set to be released on VHS/DVD in February.
Bring it on Again - The followup to Bring it On cheerleading movie from a few years ago. This has actually been much anticipated for some time and will only be coming to VHS/DVD on January 13.
Camp - Follow the summer of fame-seeking hopefulls (including a dancer)as they embark on a summer "camp" endeavor to further their talents. This was shown at a film festival last year and should be released in VHS/DVD soon.
The Company - Starring Neve Campbell, The Company is a behind the scenes look at the ballet with the support of the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. Currently showing in select cities.
Havana Nights: Dirty Dancing 2 - Get ready for hungry eyes all over again including a cameo by Mr. Dance himself. Set to release February 13...just in time for Valentine's.
Honey - Follow young Honey as she learns hip hop and love for dance can be enough. Now showing.
Shall We Dance - a remake of the 1996 Japanese film of the same name. Will star Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere and is set to release in August.
You Got Served - Hip Hop at its best...coming to theaters January 30.
