I was interviewing in Dallas, Texas this week and decided to look up some dance studios. The thing I ran into was it was mostly C&W and Swing dancing. I managed to only find a few studios that focused on dancesport competition.
Am I just missing something or are there just fewer studios there? I'd be living most likely in Irving but dance is a big part of where I'd make a decision on living.
Thanks

There are a couple dancesport focused studio's in Dallas. Both of them tend to favor Latin over Standard. Consequently, I'd say Dallas is a good place to work on Latin. Tends to be a bit more going on in Houston.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is much out Irving way. If you are looking for a specific about a studio you can PM me.
If you are an advanced standard dancer you may have difficulty finding a good coach.
Not that you asked - but I always thought Dallas had a pretty lively social scene also.

Maybe you should check out Austin...
If you are an advanced standard dancer you may have difficulty finding a good coach.
Our college club in the San Antonio area is in a small scene, and just hired a coach (with 20 years teaching) who does advanced Standard/Latin!

I was so surprised there was such a limited dance scene there. The nice thing is if i get the job i'd be working for an airline so I could always fly somewhere. Thanks for the advice!
