Ok. I'm so excited. After I went to fill out the paper work for my second job, I went down to fill out what I need to become a business owner! Technically, it's a temporary business license, but it still works the same as a business license. That's because if someone questions what I'm doing, then I can pull out my license (which is a purple piece of paper with my company name etc.) and say, it's all legal! Plus what I'm doing is more of a hobby anyways, but I can officially sell my products (jewelry, beading etc.) now and legally. I just have to remember to renew my license on my birthday from now on lol. But it's a good day to get it, because I'll be like... now what was it I was supposed to do on my birthday???

But anyways, he said I can also get the other things if I want to, but he said that I probably don't need to right now. I agree. I'm working two jobs plus this, so I am not wanting to go full fledged into something and get stressed out about it. This is supposed to be fun, and a great way to earn some extra money for the extra stuff that I would like to have.

He mentioned the idea of a web site, and so have some others even on this message board. But again, I don't want to get into something and then be stressed about it later from doing toooo much. I like to work and all, but you know... I do draw the line some place lol! But I'm excited now! ;)

That's really great, SPratt! :D And hey. You could probably get a very simple website up with some pictures and prices without much hassle.
Congratulations!

Thanks you guys! Actually, taxes don't bother me. I didn't mind my accounting classes in college lol. And I won't have any employees, so I only have to worry about me. And I found a great accounting program for jewelry online, or I can make one up in Excel if I decide to go that route lol. But this is a great way for me to try out my business first before opening up a store. I can test the waters so to speak lol! ;)

Oh, it's okay. I'm mostly twitching because I'm stressed out. NOT about taxes, thankfully, but I will be someday and that stresses me out.
Then again, empty freaking water bottles stress me out. *shrug*

Uh...

My life constantly feels like a stress-a-palooza. Maybe I'm insane, depressed, OCD, whatever. I have three empty water bottles onmy desk and every now and then I look at them and think "Why are they HERE? Dammit!"

Lol.. it's ok. I'm stressed about taxes now too, because I don't have my W2 yet from the store that I work at. I just called her this afternoon, and she said she'd call them lol. Taxes are a pain. I agree! ;)

Ooooo! So glad I'm not the only one with a life that feels like a stress-a-palooza! Gotta tell my mom...she thinks I'm the only person alive who can create stress out of nothing.

We have an accountant and love it!! He's wonderful! With 2 rentals, a couple of small businesses (if you count my freelance work as one), and 2 careers, plus the marriage, DH and I decided we didn't want the hassle.

Amazing the amount of extra time one has. ;-)

Congrats!!

So do you have pictures of some of your jewelry to share with us? I'm so eager to see them :)

I had scanned some pieces, but I haven't posted anything. I'm trying to make a variety of pieces now, so I can show what I'm capable of. I'm also trying to figure out how to design my business cards and things like that now as well. I can print out my own business cards, so cost really isn't an issue. It's just a matter of getting everything together now more than anything at all. And I didn't want to get to far ahead of things until I became official. But now I have a direction as to what I'd like to expand to. I was even thinking about maybe taking some classes to learn about clothes, so I can make some ballroom dresses and latin dresses. I've always wanted to do that. But for right now, I'm learning what to do with beads and crystals etc. and how to work with them as well as color combinations and things like that. ;)

And thanks everyone!!!!!!! :D
