I know I'm a moderator, so this is going to sound canned coming from me, but it's really not. Nobody's putting me up to this.

I just noticed that we have a lot of members. More than a hundred new members in the past month or so. But only a relatively few post stuff. I'm not sure why, but I think it may have something to do with the idea that your ideas/questions/observations/answers aren't important, brilliant, or whatever, enough to post.

So, since I am comfortable generating topics, I figured I'd give some hints about my process.

Ways to generate a topic:

1. Go dancing. Look around. Think about what happened -- Funny? Annoying? Sad? Different than before? Same as always? Any of the above, and you have a new topic in hand.

2. Pick up one of those dance magazines on the counter of your dance teachers studio. Skim the cover for headlines. Skim articles inside. Lots of topic ideas there.

3. Pick your favorite dance. Or your least favorite dance. Or the dance in the middle. Think about it -- What do you do well? What do you do badly? What technique do you need to polish? More topic ideas. :D

4. And my favorite. Google. Google salsa in Detroit, or tango Buenos Aires, or ballroom Britain, or whatever strikes your fancy. Follow the links until you find something that makes you go hmm. And you have a new topic.

Just a few thoughts, folks.

I guess my point is that we all have important and valid dance-related experiences or questions, so please don't be afraid to chime right in. What you have to say is important, too.

Or just find a really funny joke, and post it in the Funstuff forum.

Somehow, NeoDevin, I knew you'd say that.
