Is the date of the finale Monday, May 21st, with the final three couples competing? Will the couples dance again on the results show on Tuesday, May 22nd? I couldn't find the information on the ABC website. In previous seasons, I've seen the show eliminate down to two couples or three couples for the finals. I've also seen the couples dance a third routine during the results show as well as dance three routines in the final show. Seems like there's always something different each season.

I checked TV Guide's listings for May 21st and 22nd.

The May 21st episode is one hour long and runs from 8:00 to 9:01pm.

The May 22nd episode where the winner is announced starts at 8:00pm and ends at 10:01pm.

Really?! That creates a dilemma for those of us planning on a viewing party. I had thought the Monday show would contain more of the action, but if it's only an hour...

By then they'll only have 3 contestants so without filler (save that for the results show), they should be able to fit in the final 6 dances.

Still no word on what the format of the finale will be like. Hopefully, tonight...

It'll be interesting who gets eliminated tonight. And, will they announce who is in the bottom two, or just the eliminated? With the votes so close, you can bet that all the placements this week were determined by the audience.

I imagine they'll do a bottom two tonight since we have 4 couples left. Next week they'll probably just skip it entirely as I believe that's what they did last season.

Well, it's just if they announce the bottom two, then you pretty much know who among the finalist had the least number of votes. They might not announce the bottom two, just to keep us completely in the dark on how the TV viewers are voting.

I would prefer that, actually. Last week we got a bit of a shock with Joey being in the bottom two but that's with 5 couples left. I'd rather in the dark tonight since that'll keep up the suspense factor. :D

Whether or not they tell us might depend on who ends up in the bottom two, if the producers have a favorite to win. If their favorite is in the bottom two, they would benefit from announcing it so that that couple's fans would feel obliged to save them. If the producers' favorite is doing well, it behooves them to not tell us, so that the fans of the bottom two don't panic and mobilize.

Perfect timing... scheduling the results just before Blackpool! :D
