Salsathons

Has anyone ever attended or competed in a salsa marathon known as a salsathon?

The studio I attend has done a couple of these. I did not compete, but attended both for dancing til the wee hours - great fun!

The first one that was held a year ago in November went until five in the morning and the second held last November went until three. I had left before either ended, but was still the latest I had ever danced. 8)

That's where I first started learning salsa. I moved away this past December, just after the salsathon. We probably did see each other. Small world!

Was it at the Tuesday or Thursday Salsa classes?

I was attending the Salsa class given by Louie Perez up until three years ago when he went to another studio and I like most the others followed him over there. I've only been to a few at ABC since.

I was just reading that there is going to be a Salsathon in Hawaii in June (?) 2005.

Has anyone else come across this? I know I did a dance marthon thread in General Dance section but was wondering if anyone has since come across salsathons?
