I think I missed the Afro-Cuban dance last year, so I would loooove to see somebody bring the heat with that. I'd actually like to see latin done by choreographers other than Alex da Silva (although he does have some exciting stuff). I also love krumping as well.

The Afro-Cuban rumba that Heidi did with Ryan last year was FUN! Apparently that was more Alien Ramirez's choreography than Alex da Silva's. It rocked!

Hmmm... that was interesting Beto! I didn't get to see a majority of the dances last year. I only saw them when I didn't have lessons. So, I'm looking forward to the whole season (if I get to watch it that is lol). I'm not a fan of Contemporary or Hip Hop though. But I would like to see how they do Ballroom/Latin. ;)

I'm not usually a fan of the contemporary dancing, but I did absolutely LOVE the dance that Heidi and Travis did with the bench and the flower. I think it was not only the dance but the music with the dance. It was quite moving/beautiful...

And of course I ALWAYS love the ballroom dances.

Um, oh and yeah...I have this secret desire to learn krumping. Guess because it looks like a good stress reliever, and I always have plenty of stress to go around....

I didn't even know what Krumping was until Louis and Monique showed a little bit of it during DWTS. I'd like to see more before I decide if I like it or not. From what I can see so far, it looks like it could be fun. ;)

Then you definitely have to watch SYTYCD so you can see it done by someone who knows what they are doing. It didnt look so great when Louis and Monique did it, but the routine that the choreographers came up with on SYTYCD was quite interesting and fun! Some say its a little much because it almost looks like fighting, etc, but it appeals to the frustrated side of me. ha ha!

Ah yes, that one was nice!

My personal fave was Allison & Ivan's contemporary to Annie Lennox's "Why"

I'd like to see some SWOP and some Flamenco. Maybe some irish step just to see if anyone can learn a respectable amount in a weeks time.

Haha! Well, then I need to watch it! ;)

Actually though, I'm curious to see how this dance show works for a few reasons. One is last night, I really enjoyed watching the people dance (even the bad ones lol) whereas like in American Idol, you just want to turn off the television when you hear some of those people singing lol! But I did enjoy myself last night. And I have yet to know the different style of dances besides the ones that I know how to do, so I'm interested to see everyone's comments about who is doing what etc. I'm not going to have the faintest idea, so this will be a learning experience for me. :p

yes, definitely a learning experience...it is fascinating to hear about the different styles and where they came from, etc. looking forward to it!

I've become a big fan of this show. Where else can you see such talented dancers? I even manage to look past most of the over-produced reality aspect of the show. That's getting to be much more of a chore with each succeeding season of DwtS.

I love this show. I enjoy it much more than DWTS (partly bc there's so much less fluff time).

I looked forward to the lyrical dances and ballroom only if one of the dancers is ballroom trained....

Please, please, pretty please, no bad Argentine Tango!
I am so not looking forward to seeing that...

So far three Latin dancers are going to Las Vegas - Pavel Kovalev, Anna Garnis and Faina Savitch.

I just saw the Argentine Tango they had one season and I just was like...what is this?
I guess since it's summer, I'll watch the show, I haven't seen it before but it looks great.

So how does it compare to DWTS?

I'd like to see a Samba, love the dance and it seems like a lot of people are able to pull them off...
of course, Ballroom is always a must : )

Less fluff and cheese than DwtS and more dancing. No filler at all during the performance show and minimal filler during the results show. I love both shows but love this one a bit more. :D

Blake and Ashle did a decent samba during Season 1. At least, I liked it.

I'm looking forward to watching the dances that the dancers are not trained in. I love to watch dancers take on the challenge of a new style along with performing their forte...

Most "classically" trained dancers have never tried ballroom and it's great to watch them perform it. And as for the ballroom dancers, a lot of them have had some training in other dance styles, but often not a lot - so they get their challenge.

I just came back from watching Chuck Davis' African-American Dance Ensemble last night. I wonder how some of these dancers would do performing traditional West African dances....

The fluff and cheese are part of what I love about DWTS.

I really got into SYTYCD last season, too, but only after the auditions were over and the competitors had been chosen and were actually competing in all the different styles.

I can't wait for Broadway this year! I do musical theater in my spare time, so its very excititng to see Broadway routines on the show. Tyce Diorio Rocks!

For Ballroom, I would like to see more Paso Doble's, Foxtrot's, and Cha-Cha's this season. Benji and Donyelle's Cha-Cha was amazing.

And then there is the Quickstep...that's like a killer for non-Ballroom people who get that for a routine. I still would like to see more though.

I dunno if I have a fav dance to watch. As long as it's done well, I enjoyed all the different styles last year.

I seem to be the odd ball out here with this, but I love the contemporary, modern, and jazz stuff!

You're not alone there. I LOVE seeing those styles! I wonder if tap will ever be attempted. Something along the lines of "Moses Supposes" from Singin' in the Rain, perhaps? :D
