Hello all:
I started doing ballroom dancing one year ago. I have done two college competitions and I find it exciting. I am focused mostly on international standard and Latin. it is getting difficult to find a partner to practice two or three times a week. I do full bronze and some silver figures. I want to move up my dancing but I can't if I do not have a partner. Is someone available around LA who could help me?....... I am in Pasadena.
Thanks !!!

Welcome to DF!

Unfortunately, if you look around the forums, you'll find quite a few posts bemoaning the difficulty of finding a partner.

But there are some resources you can try:

dancepartner.com is the biggest partner site and some people have had good luck with it.

ballroomdancers.com has a partner search under their Calissified ads.

Go to patrties at local dance studios and meet people--someone may turn out to be a potential partner.

Are you still involved in your college team? Or are there other colleges near you that have teams? Some teams allow non-students to join. Others have open dances where you might meet a partner.

Good luck!

are you part of the ballroom club at cal tech? if not, why not check them out? otherwise, you might want to check & see if there are any students at westmor (koreatown) or vivo (hacienda heights) that are looking for a practice partner - IIRC they're the closest places to pasadena that emphasize international.

good luck.

I found an amateur partner (or rather, he found me) through ballroomdancers.com!

I was very pleasantly surprised!
