I'm wondering what you watch to inspire you for shines...youtube clips? other sites? what fun moves/isolations/turns/arm movements/etc. do you just love and can't imagine going without.
I feel bored with my shining lately...like I keep doing the same stuff. I'm doing my very best to be dancing to the music, not just throwing every move I've ever learned. Choreographed sequences are lost on me, though I do usually pick up atleast one "move" that I can integrate in my dancing.

I'd say, "yes," but since YouTube has so many types of clips, that's probably not a useful answer. To narrow it down, I like to watch clips of dancers who do long sequences of solo dancing. Examples include concert footage of Michael Jackson; music videos of various singers with a reputation for dancing; and clips from movie musicals with stars like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. In other words, I don't focus on Salsa -- I look for good dancers period, paying attention to their own brands of musical interpretation/styling. Then, of course, there is the standard array of Salsa superstars whose names you can put in the "search" box.

What you may need is new music.
New music = new breaks & syncopation = new moves.
Also try to practice everything backwards - if you always start your SuzyQ on your right, for example, try it starting on your left -- just changing your starting leg or arm, you may come up with something new.

for me shines are a direct result of dancing all kinds of dances starting as a toddler and till salsa.. apparently u build quite a backlog in 30 yrs of doing all sorts of popular dancing.. so its automatic.. just flows out.. which feels great cause it varies in style and rythm according to the music.
