The new technology at WestHost uses a disk-less server system (no hard drive), with all the data on a central server. After paying someone $30 to research this problem, I then contacted Westhost with the info. They put the Senior Tech on the phone (the Big Guy).
He was very interested in the problem. He told me there was no way any of the scripts of this forum could be causing the data corruption, and felt the problem was surely on their end. He is installing the database on a separate disk drive. Apparently some applications don't like the disk-less environment, and he suspects the mySQL database may be such an application.
He wants to work closely with me over the next couple of weeks to insure everything is working correctly.
So let me say again, thanks for the donations! I think I spent the money wisely.
