Its extremely difficult to describe-- essentially, think of a large surface ( like a glass table top ), by placing ones hands onto the surface , you are able to create and enlarge picture, documents etc from a special camera that sits on the surface ( its small ) that feeds info into the screen -- I think it was developed at NYU .?
I was sent a p.c. video of the unit .( its msn )

Here is a link to a video showing use:

Obvious uses are in venue where table or horizontal surface used. For example, at restaurant/bar, Vegas gambling table, airline ticket counter, etc. I'm not sure how it would replace current forms of interfacing with your computer. I'm still thinking about that. Note that new iPhone is also touch screen oriented. For example, you can resize photos by expanding fingers on top of displayed photo.

If surface computer becomes popular, must be careful as ballroom dancer. Don't want to be bending over and looking down all the time. Bad for posture ... ;)

Very funny !!-- thanks for posting link.

Like all techn.-- someone will find a way to commercialise the product for the general population .( might be a good stock investment ? )

Its one of the amusements at our studio - me practicing routines clutching my notebook computer as a partner (reading the routine in excel). :)
