This Sunday- on a big salsavenue - I found myself dancing for the first time  . I mean really really dancing.
Of course I have danced before. Several times I have been touching the stars together with great leaders a great music. But this time was the first time I felt all my body was there - playfully IN the music.
The difference from previous times was a certain "distance" created by full "control" of my following. Which means I didn’t need to put to much effort in following.
Another difference was that I have started to use the arms and hands - not forced by a "must use my arms" but as a natural thing. Even fingers works swell. (Classes as young in flamenco and classical ballet helps).
I felt my body took over and played with the tunes and the rhythm. Perhaps recent classes on-2 helped me. I stepped out of the ordinary on-1, played around and jumped back on beat when needed.
A bad knee has prevented me from dancing for a while. Meanwhile I've done a lot of hours in the gym. A lot of core exercises as well. I've also started up biking again. I've rebuilt my old 21-gears-sportsbike to suit my bad disc. It has now got a new steering - the up-right type you find on old bikes for ladies. Cardiovascular training off dance floor is also great.
Perhaps all these exercises have helped me to put all pieces together.
It took me three years to come this far in dancing :)
