Who designs the Ballroom/Latin dresses on So You Think You Can Dance?

Incredible, but I LOVE every single Ballroom and Latin dresses female contestants wear on the SYTYCD show. Anyone knows who the designer is? Is it from the same maker of Dancing with the Stars gowns? I wonder if those dresses are for sale! *drool*

the designer for dancing with the stars is Randall designs. I know that you can buy those dresses.

I have loved them all too. And I know some of the DWTS dresses ended up for sale, so maybe these will too. Although they flat out tell you with the DWTS dresses that they are held together with nothing but a hope and a prayer because they are made for only having to last thru one dance...so not sure they would work for a person in real life unless you DID just wear it once, or reinforce it or something.

The more I think about it I'm not sure if they meant how the costumes were made or how they fit them to the dancers. Maybe the costumes are regular dresses but the "rigging" has to do with fitting it to the individual dancer and thats where the tape and pins and other haphazard ways of holding something together come in. Would love to hear from someone who may know more about this....

I'm pretty sure that Designs to Shine does most of the ballroom and latin dresses- I know they have in the past. They did the 1st season of DWTS. My studio won a team match and as a trophy we have one of Rachael Hunter's standard dresses on display. One of the designers has a user name on here. . .

I think Designs to Shine did the first season of DWTS (the season Rachel Hunter was on), then Randall has done them subsequently.

I don't know who makes the SYTYCD costumes.

I meant that I think Designs to Shine currently does SYTYCD. It definitely looks like their style!

I sure didn't like Lacey's dress for the latin jazz routine. It was too loose and wrinkled unattractively when she moved.

I thought it looked like one. I find it funny that there is such a range in um "quality" of costumes on that show....from D2S dresses to cheap spray painted tshirts ;)
